YAC – a full description of the weekend
Well then… I’m not quite sure where to begin…
Friday morning I arrived at the church to many shocked voices saying, “What, you’re coming??” “You’re here?” Yes, I’m here… As if I would miss a trip to ********! *shakes head* I will mention that I saw some unknown rather cute-potential looking boy unload his stuff while I was standing around talking. This is important only in my after reflections… but it will help with the story line. So we all pile up into various vehicles, and where am I? The church van… in the back seat… with 3 guys… and 3 guys sitting in front of me (one being the unknown kid), one guy lying on the floor due to lack of seating space, and 4 girls in the front-most back seat which is only supposed to hold 3. And then of course 2 adults in the front seat. Let me tell you… that was a fun ride… *sarcasm* But James and Otte were cool… so that’s ok.
*note to people that know these people – there were 2 Brians on the trip, so if I say a last name of a Brian, it’s that Brian, and if I just say Brian, it’s the other one*
Cedar Point was fun… we rode Raptor first, then Magnum, Gemini, the indoor rip-off one, Mantis and the Mine Ride. Oh, and there was the rally at 5 for YAC… much Candlerain fun!! (I bought their new “I love Candlerain” shirt, and their newest cd) We were ABOUT to go on the Raptor again… with those prescious no-wait go to the exit and get right on the ride passes we got from Eric who got them from our good friends in Candlerain… Well we were strapped in, ready to go, when the wind picks up a little. The sky’s looking a little ominous, but we figure we can still get this ride in, right? With the wind came a little rain, and a man FLYING into the control booth slamming on the windows to the controllers… screaming “STOP!!!!” It was kind of scary… we were ALMOST on the ride in the middle of a thunderstorm. And I guess there was a water spout? But whatever… Point being that we never got to ride Raptor again, and our lovely no-wait tickets are now null and void. *sigh*
About five of us were standing up in the Raptor, hoping the storm would pass? Well, eventually we decided to leave and go back to the pavillion… which meant running through the POURING rain. Hehehe… we were really wet… like beaucoup. Let’s just say I was wearing jean capris… that don’t dry very quickly at all… 🙂 After sitting under the pavillion until 8:30 (we had to leave @ 9), the Blue Streak opened again. Mind you, it was still drizzling, but nothing bad. So 4 of us RACED over to the Blue Streak (because there was no line for it) and rode it before leaving. It was Sloan, Jen, David (the unknown boy), and myself. Then we went splashing through the puddles and goofing around, lol. It was so much fun… and then going back to a van, David absolutely SPLASHED me… I mean… the entire bottom half of my capris were more soaked then they had been after the rain. And the ironic thing about this entire situation, was the fact that all day, through the 90 degree weather, I had purposefully avoided the water rides.
Back in ********, we all chose rooms in our cottage, and went to God time and such things. Then it was off to bed (or the floor between a door and two beds in my case) for us!
Saturday was spent debating and getting frustrated over resolutions and the voting process. Lol… Candlerain ate lunch and dinner at our youth group’s cottage. It’s so great… so much fun to be sitting there in the kitchen and see Ben and Aaron walk through the door. Aww. After the resolutions were finished, a carnival and a dance was held right by the pier. Some of us from youth group just walked around and watched the sun set over the lake… very beautiful. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bad sunset there… ever.
The Candlerain concert followed, which was HECK YEAH good… 🙂 I love that band! It was followed by a worship service. A group from my church did a liturgical dance to Nails, my favorite song by Candlerain… it was very very powerful. Then came a few other things… passages from the bible, and a mime skit.
to be continued
im glad you had fun! 😉
