reading and writing and music – OH MY!

I simply love Borders!!! *books*music*cafe* I love it. My sister and I went there during our a million hour shopping/bonding time today. She spent her Christmas gift card, and I finished off what was left of mine. I bought the Lifehouse CD, and Emma, by Jane Austen. I was torn between getting Emma or Jane Eyre as well as between those two CD’s, but I figured it out. Now I’m so wanting to read 1984 (which I have been doing) so that I can read Emma… *gets all excited* There are 3 books (with a possible 4th) I simply MUST read in addition to the 2 summer reading books. No time for such things. ‘Tis not fair! I need more summer for nice, quite, lazy, lovely reading time!

After looking at the Moulin Rouge soundtrack, I decided that the ratio of Nicole Kidman tracks to total tracks just wasn’t favorable. 5/15 she sang on. Now, this is nothing against her singing, because she did a great job for what the movie was, but if I’m going to buy a cd, hi… it’d be nice if they were, ohh, I dunno… recognized musicians? Or something? Thus deciding my decision for me. (with Carrie’s assistance, of course)

I think I’d be better off never going to school. I think that we should all just stay at home everyday of the year to read any book we desire, and study any music we desire. Just read and practice all day long, with an occassional break to write in our beloved diaries. Then perhaps play a little badmitton with friends, or discuss our newfound loves in novels over chai or coffee at a bookstore. Perhaps see a LOVELY movie once in a while, nothing like Joe Dirt, but more like Pleasantville, or some other wonderful movie which requires brainpower. Or heart-power… or dreamer-power. 🙂

I’m excited to be reading non-school associated books. Actually, I’m rather hoping to write book responses in here… serve as a type of paper, but way less formal. More like a colloquial essay or personal response, perhaps even fueling discussion by my readers? You know what would be fantastic? It would be utterly “stellar” if some of you chose to read books right along with me. Then when we’re finished, we might actually be able to have stimulating discussions and feedback… oooh ooh ooh!!! So go pick up a copy of George Orwell’s 1984 and dig in. I’ve just finished chapter 4, so hop-to!

Well, I’ll let you start that tonight, as I’m off to watch Remember the Titans with my family. *Who’s your daddy????????* *grins*

If you never went to school, how would you have met your friends? How would you know how to read? How would you know how to write? How would you know how to count out the money to buy badmitton birdies? How would you know how to think?

Klayms you have to buy the Cd I bought it today and it is sooooooooo good you will love it. bye xo
