June?????

Is it really June? This year has gone by way too fast! I can’t even believe we’ve reached another new month. i can’t believe tomorrow is my last day of school! It’s such a strange feeling… It is summer. I am almost free. I will be going to summer gym, summer marching band, YAC, camp, band camp (ohh yeah baby), meeting new people, getting in shape. I’m looking forward to it so much, and then again, I won’t see a lot of people that I see on a regular basis.

It is in the 80’s today. Very hot and humid, and I am enjoying it immensely. All of you southern people are like, yeah, so what’s new? But I am telling you that just either last week or 2 weeks ago it was in the 50’s! So this is a very happy event.

Our band director just announced that while he will continue to be the head concert band director, he will be the assistant marching band director this year. I guess we’re getting a new guy for the head position. I’m kind of glad about this, for several reasons. First of all, we aren’t allowed to have fun. What’s the point of marching band again? Oh, plus we are really really really bad. We need someone young to come in with a whole bunch of energy who will not only whip our butts into shape, but will also make it a heck of a lot of fun. So I guess I’m really looking forward to it!
