Sleepless nights

Last Sunday night, I couldn’t sleep because of toothache.

Last night, I wasn’t able to sleep because baby Marc has a fever and I couldn’t help but stay awake in case he needed me. I gave him meds for his fever at 230am, but he vomited after taking it. So his milk intake at 2am just went to nothing. He cried for a while, then he just hugged his Dada until he fell asleep.

In the morning, when his Dada got up, I tried to sleep at 8am but I woke up at 1030am. I checked on my sleeping baby in the crib, checked his temperature, it’s at 38.17 degrees C. So I dressed him up and we went to the nearest clinic. There’s a new one about 3 km from our house, it’s just a small one, because their main hospital building is still under construction and apparently, still looking for investors. When we got there, there’s not much that doctor could tell me, other than to observe his fever since it’s only been half a day, less than 24 hours since the onset of fever. After 24 hours, I have to take his pee for urinalysis, then after 48 hours of fever, they need to check his blood for CBC.

So I guess all I have to do really for now is to wait… But patience is never one of my virtues.

When we got back home, I gave him another dose of meds, then he puked again. Good thing he hasn’t eaten anything yet. I gave him milk but he only drank a couple of ounces. The he started playing and laughing again.

I really hope his fever won’t return this evening.

Please Lord, let him be fine. Let it be just a fever because of his new set of teeth.

it’s me,
