Hobbies

I received a Kindle Fire HD 8.9 from hubby as a post Christmas gift. Unfortunately, I still cannot enjoy it fully because I still have to download apps from the Amazon Store. And since I am not residing in the US, the store is restricting me to purchase/download apps. So I called the Amazon hotline and the agent forwarded me to a Specialist.

The Specialist said Amazon is checking the timezone of my Kindle. Once it detects that it is outside the US timezone, it automatically restricts any download.

So I asked: if I change the timezone setting of my Kindle, I will be able to use it to download apps, finally?

She said: one moment, let me have a look…

After a few moments, she got back to me and confirmed what I suspected I needed to do. So we said our goodbyes and I said ‘Have a nice day!’ in a cheerful voice.

My teammates, who were listening to my conversation with the Amazon Tech Support and also curious what the problem with my Kindle is, were smiling expectantly when I turned to face them. They thought my problem was already solved and that we could use my Kindle. So imagine their disappointment when I told them it wasn’t solved because I really need a US-based IP address when browsing and downloading the apps.

And then they started to laugh because they were really expecting the issue was resolved because of the way I said goodbye and I was even smiling when I told the agent to have a  nice day.

Oh, well.

Baby Marc is now very choosy when it comes to eating. I don’t know what to prepare for him anymore. I have tried different kinds of food already. Sometimes, he likes what he eats, but the next time I tried to make him eat the same food (even not on the same day), he doesn’t like it anymore. Most of the time, he vomits or sometimes gags.

I’m running out of ideas anymore…

it’s me,

P.S.

I am going to enroll in a non-formal course this January (course will last until May). It’s going to be a distance learning class – Simplified Accounting for Entrepreneurs. There’s a question in the application form that asks the applicant the reason for enrolling. I wanted to write: boredom. Hahaha

Get a U.S VPN account, configure a wireless router to route traffic through the VPN, connect the kindle to the router… voila.
