Cancelled Flight
September 18, at 6am – woke up and get dressed, had breakfast and gave our last minute instructions to our good help and babysitter.
At 8am, we were ready to travel to the airport. We arrived at 1030am. Just in time for the Check In counter for our flight to open.
We got our window seat and went to the boarding area. Here’s his shot going to the boarding area… Like a lost baby…picking his cute little nose…
Baby was very energetic, as usual at that time of the day. I was thankful for this, because when we boarded the plane at 1230pm, he was already tired and he fell asleep at once. So he slept through the flight. But not entirely, because after an hour, just when we were approaching the destination airport, he woke up. Probably because his ears hurt. Just like mine. Unfortunately, the seat belt sign was still on, so I could not get his milk from the stowage bin. I was forced to let him suck on his empty milk bottle. I should have put his pacifier in my pocket so I could get it anytime.
Anyway, it seemed to ease his uneasiness so I just prayed we would land soon. But we did not land. I noticed the plane kept on circling the area but we were not descending. After 15 minutes, the pilot finally announced that we may have to go back to the airport of origin as there were low-lying clouds and the plane won’t be able to land. He kept saying, our safety is their priority.
So we had no choice but to go back. Another hour in the air, with pressure on my ears kept building, and baby woke again, this time, when the seat belt sign was off, so we were able to give him some milk.
When we landed, the only option given to us for the inconvenience was to rebook our flight within 30 days. We rescheduled our trip to Oct 10-14. Then we went home.
We arrived home around 530pm. We were very tired. I had baby to carry – all 9 kg of him. Hubby had to carry 5 bags, around 30 kg.
September 19 – Super tired, slept most of the day
