It slowly pours from the wounds she causes
wounds she creates to ease the pain
Hoping to see her love drain away too…
How ironic.

Silly little girl
Giving your heart
Letting that wall down
Only to be crushed in the rubble

Destruction you have created
Echoed in the slices you have made
A longing for love
Deep love, sadly unrequited

Burgundy,
Sticky,
Metallic,
It’s source the same as that which pains her
Also sets her free

Peace.
His soft words in your ear.

Lust.
His breath on your body

Clarity.
His eyes looking through you

Happiness.
In his arms.

Those are, for now, only distant fairy tales.

But.  You can create your own, little girl
even if not the storybook kind…
A happy ending.
A sweet, stinging, amazing release.

And if only for a moment….
