4: Dear Brother

Day 4 — Your sibling (or closest relative)

Dear Brother,

I can’t believe you’re already 15 years old.  I remember holding you when you were just 5 hours old, back in 1995.  How time flies.

I just want you to know that I love you with all my heart.  You are my little brother, and I will always be there for you.  I am impressed with what a great young man you are turning out to be.  You have your 15 year old qualities of course, but you have a great heart.  It was so cute when I came home and had just broken up with my ex, how concerned you looked.  I love that you are so considerate.  When I’m sick, you’ll do anything in your power to make me feel better.  You don’t see when I’m sad, but I know if you did, you would be there for me like any good brother would.

Anyway, you’re an amazing boy and I hope you learn from the mistakes I made.

Before I end this letter, just a bit of advice from a big sister to her favorite little bro 😉

1. Don’t get caught up in a girlfriend too young – it rarely works out, and there is so much else to worry yourself with.
2. Do well in school.  It will be very important when you get older.
3. Work hard, and always have some sort of job.  Being idle is never good.
4. When you are ready to date, treat your girlfriend with respect and love, just like you will want from her.
5. Also, always hold the door for a lady – she deserves it.
6. Don’t move in with a girl unless you’re damn sure ready.  It can cause problems.
7. And finally, always be respectful of Mom and Dad.  They have provided for you all of your life, and you owe them your love and gratitude.

I love you little brother.
