Hustle and Bustle

I’ve found myself in the last couple of weeks becoming caught up in the "hustle and bustle" of everyday life, and forgetting to appreciate what I have.  This happens to everyone, and I’m very aware of when it happens to me.  Lately it’s because I just have a lot going on.  Work is really busy and somewhat stressful at times, my MBA class is kicking my butt this term, and after tonight I will have to make my hour plus commute much more often because I won’t have a house in Austin to house-sit anymore.  On top of that, Travis is working nights for the most part, so our time together is quite limited with me working an 8-5 M-F job.  I’m not complaining about Travis’ work schedule though.  He has a job, he’s making money, and he’s doing it in whatever way he can.  No complaints at all from me.

Anyway, I’m just a bit more stressed than usual, and antsy to get my shit together.  Funny how you can screw up so big in such a short amount of time, but then the amount of time to fix it is exponentially higher.  Such is life, right? 🙂

Trav has been off the last couple of nights so we’ve been able to spend some time together, which has been nice.  Tuesday night I got a frozen pizza (California Pizza Kitchen – only 310 calories a serving and SOOOO yummy), and we stayed in and just hung out on the couch.  Then last night after work we went to a friend’s house for dinner.  Hadn’t seen her and her boyfriend in quite a while, so we had a lot to catch up on.  After that, we went to Hooters for a couple of margaritas and laughed at all of the socially awkward Douchey McToolbags there that gawk at the girls.  Too funny.

So, a couple of tame nights all in all.  This week hasn’t been all that exciting, but more often than not I prefer it that way.

Yeah, nothing deep here so I’m just going to give it a rest today… maybe I’ll have something thought-provoking to write about later.

Hm.

🙂

It’s unfortunate that women are often portrayed that way in entertainment. It’s also unfortunate that men are often portrayed as buffoons, especially dads. You’re probably right about 3 and 4. Douchey McToolbags?

You have this thing about douche…lol

Yeah, “douchebag” goes way back to my day.

General and vocal music. I also teach education courses from time to time.
