Mike was terminated today. We worked closely together for the whole time he was employed there – less than 3 years. He’s my age. We made each other laugh. Thursday night we spent the last 3 hours of a 12-hour shift rapping off old TV show names. That night 12 hours wasn’t quite so bad.
He had a heart attack about 3 months ago and missed some work. Bad luck on his part, huh? And then he had another bit of bad luck. Nothing worth getting fired over, but the company saw fit to fire him because someone didn’t like him. I guess I’m just writing this down because I’m not over it yet and don’t know where else to go with this. I work for a company run by heartless bitches.
And yet I work.
Well that sucks. :

Get a government job. No one ever gest fired–When they are no longer wanted or needed they just get moved to some other place/boss. The post office is a good bet to put in an application. I went with a friend who applied for a job there. When the exams were passed out,one came to me, and having nothing else to do I filled it out. Would you believe, I got a call to be a mail carrier. Had somethingbetter and turned it down.

May your friend Mike find another job that’s with a good place. A wise management knows it pays to treat employees well and have good morale. Btw, thanks again for your “Why Men Don’t Write Advice Columns”. It’s in our just released Weekly Entertainment Magazine (willy’s diary): http://www.opendiary.com/entryview.asp?authorcode=A108121&entry=20278
