I’m sitting here this very minute with several entries running in and out of my head, as often is the case. When I’m at work, I can think of lots of things I want to write about. By the time I get home, I’m too exhausted to actually structure the sentences. Then comes the weekends. Ahh sweet weekends. I literally live for them.

This weekend was long, and productive. My closet has officially been switched from summer to winter. One thing I’ve noticed is that I’m pretty heavy in summer clothing. Not so for winter. Maybe that’s because I tend to stay home more in the winter. And once I’m home, on come the flannels. Besides that, there’s not much to see when you go to and come from work in the dark.

I finally got all the potted plants ousted, flower garden cut back, things straightened around for the coming of winter. But I do love fall. Man I hate to see it end. Today was fantastic. I hated to come inside. But I’m doing some fun projects inside too. Forgoing a retirement party this Saturday night, I will be attending a birthday party at Chucky Cheese for my adopted granddaughter’s 6th birthday. I decided I’d like to try my hand at one of those GemMagic thingamagiggies. Hey, they’re fun, (but not as easy as they make it look on TV) and now she has a studded jean jacket that has a cute little design on the back, and some carefully placed pink jewels and studs on the tip of the collar. While on the subject of Zyea, she came over yesterday and we watched a movie and played for a while and ate ham & cheese, and gummie worms. My closet was open and she saw an old red sequin dress and asked if she could have it. I said sure. (Hasn’t fit in years) She wanted to wear it around the house, and I asked if I could take some glamour shots of her in it. So we dressed up. Some of them turned out so well, I’m going to order a large size to give her mom and dad for Christmas. Her dad has done a lot for me this year. He just finished changing my electric garage door opener for me. I’ve been doing without for a few weeks, and I really hate going without.

I’ve been working a lot of hours. Most weeks is at least 4-12’s and 1-8 hour day. Good grief. . . . that is too much for anybody without issues, let alone someone with issues. Annie is trying to figure out how she can run me over with her car (without seriously injuring me) so that I can go on disability.

So what’s new aside from my garage door opener? Well, my sister did find a place of her own, and she seems to be doing quite well. She’s not far away from here, which is nice. I hear from her once in a while. I hope it stays that way. I know she’s requested from her psychiatrist that she be taken off the schizophrenia meds, and go back on the meds that actually put her in the hospital in the first place, only a lower dosage. It was something for concentration and ADD. Not sure what that is all about, but naturally the doc said no. I can only hope that she continues to take the meds that are prescribed. I’m quite sure she doesn’t understand the seriousness of her illness. Blessing in disguise? *sigh*

More…. much more to write about, but enough for today.

And life goes on.

Hey, you did it! How nice to hear what you’ve been up to. Except those long work hours. Ugh! Is overtime mandatory? LOL at Annie’s idea. So glad to hear your sister is doing well. God, I hope she stays on the meds! Smooches and hugs,

ryn: Yes, I would guess the “no backpacks” rule is a security issue. You never know what the little darlings are hiding in those backpacks…. SOme schools here allow only clear plastic backpacks. We allow them in school, but they must be kept in their lockers during the day.

RYN: No apple tree. I wouldn’t have learned the life lessons from an apple tree though. My husband of 16 years ‘fell in love’ with another woman and left our marriage and our at the time 12 year old son. Sixteen years later….it gets smaller and smaller in the rear view mirror, but on the anniversary dates I remember. Oh yeah, that 12 year old boy is 27 and I remarried.

Lovely pictures! My daughter also loves to wear my dresses and always asks if I will share them with her when she grows up…

I’m happy for the change of weather. Glad for candle burning days. 🙂 Your granddaughter is a cutie! Good news about the sister. I too hope she stays on her meds. It’s a never ending battle with the mentally ill to keep them on their meds. Hugs,
