I designated today as a do nothing day.  Got all my work done yesterday, except for one project I’m in the process of rethinking.  I installed Windows XP on this machine, but used my cousin’s copy.  I know that Bill (Microsoft) Gates has taken extra measures to make sure that the general public does not used pirated versions of his operating systems and so….. what I’m thinking of doing is going ahead and paying for my own copy, just because I don’t know exactly what the repercussions may be further down the road, and I certainly don’t want my cousin to suffer for it.  I noticed that in one of the catalogs the price has come down from close to $200 to a *mere* $100.  Such a bargain!  *grrr*  You’d think he’d be happy that we’re using his OS in the first place, but alas…. the rich get richer.

This morning I fiddled around with my front page.  It’s definitely got more going on than I’ve had in a long long time.  I’m so glad that the free diaries have this capability again.

I’m also in the process of looking for a new vehicle.  Maybe not a new one.  Maybe a year or two old.  I took one home on Friday and it was quite nice.  It may sound strange, but I will buy another minivan.  I certainly don’t need the extra room, but they sure are comfortable and I just like stepping into a vehicle, vs. crouching.

On my way to the dealership Friday I came very close to getting side swiped by a truck.  He was coming off a country road, and pulled out onto the highway and did not see me.  I slammed on the breaks while swerving off the road and halfway into the ditch.  I heard a clunk while I was in the ditch so I stopped the van to make sure everything was ok.  The truck driver stopped behind me.  Truthfully I was surprised that he even did that much.  He got out and started apologizing, saying that it was all his fault, and even though I was mad initially, I could not help but think how thoughtful it was that he stopped and apologized.  Before leaving, I held out my hand and we shook.  In the end, I felt sorry for him.  He seemed more upset about it than I was.

I’m not a huge fan of football, but of course I live in Wisconsin.

(Green Bay Packers!)

They’re playing today at 3 or 3:30 See I told you I’m not a football fanatic. Any red blooded Packer Fan would have their whole day planned around this game.  Even though the boys aren’t here today, Jarad called me and told me that I have to watch the game, and he would call at half time to quiz me so I’d better know what’s going on.  If I really didn’t want to, I wouldn’t, but this is a special game.  I know Gel will be watching.  🙂

Go Pack Go!

Countdown to Kickoff: Packers vs. Eagles
Laura Veras Marran
Green Bay is one step away from a rematch of their memorable 1996 NFC Championship meeting with the Carolina Panthers. Back then, the Packers were the team to beat; no team could get past the Pack at Lambeau. This time around, the tables are turned. The Packers will have to get past the conference’s top team in hostile territory themselves.

For $200 at Fry’s you can pick up a whole puter loaded with Linux.

Oh i’m so glad you are OK and safe. When those things happen they can make one pretty darned shaky. Glad to hear some of what’s going on in your life. You are such a sweet angel!

I am glad you were alert enough to avoid a serious accidnet. Since I am reading this now I know to offer my consolations for Packer fans.

I’m bummed the Packers are out, I hoped they’d go all the way. I bought my third mini-van last May. I love the room & comfort & I can haul all my camping & hiking gear. Plus I can remove the back seats & sleep in the car if I’m tired or if the weather is terrible. My first two vans were Chevy Luminas, a 90 & 93. Now I have a 2003 Pontiac Montana Tunder I love it! good luck car hunting.
