Now that I’ve decided to let go of my diary from the other place, I can’t access some of the people I used to visit there. I feel bad about that, and I’ll miss them. I think the diarists have to be willing to have “us” read their diaries from way over here. I don’t know what the big deal is. Funny. Such a short distance between free and not free, but there sure is a difference, and it’s not the money.

From Arbi, 7/21/03: To get into Open Diary Plus: 1. Make sure you are signed in to Free Open Diary. 2. Go to Main Page of Free Open Diary and click on Open Diary. 3. You are there, signed in! You can now type the name of the wanted Diarist in the Jump To box And it works! I was able to leave notes last night! The “admissioin denied” is OD’s and NOT the diarist. You’re NOT

Arbi and Willy are wrong! It’s sometimes impossible to get in “over there” even going to all that trouble. Like you, I don’t understand what the big deal is about staying “open.” It’s caused a lot of hard feelings. And it does have something to do with something more than money. Bah humbug to guarded communites. Welcome back to the FREE community!

I agree….so close and so far. And even if we can get to the site and are allowed to sign in, some of them don’t want us old timers (meaning now free) to read and comment on their stuff. Hurts for a bit (even when you ask them to open it and they say no–but offer you a password. what’s up with that?) and then you let them go. Their loss I think. *smooch*

Good entry… My OD Favs were eliminated for what reason I will never understand…I would visit many friends sites there…I can no longer access the Paid OD site even with Arbi & Willy’s help…it does not let me in…Oh Well… I am happy you are here ! ! ! Hugs & Smiles,

There you are! I was wondering about you when I couldn’t access your site. That’s exactly what I was trying to say. Aside fom no popups (& we have programs f/that), I can’t see the diff. Increasingly, I’m unable to use open diary whenever the mood strikes me. I have to wait until the mood strikes ?…funny how we use the internet in travel terms. “Over here”, “at ~~ site”, “go to” 🙂 ((BBe))

I agree with your take on this. So close…….and yet so far!!! Glad to see you still popping in here though!

There are definitely differences with both sites. I hope you find one that works right for you. I haven’t always been up to writing or reading, or had the time when I’d like to but I am glad the diaries & the people, like you, are available to me.
