“Too Ugly to Prostitute, Too Stupid to Steal”
So, I was driving through Olympia with Mom the other day (thinks it was Thursday or Friday) and I looked over and saw a guy busking on the corner with a sign that says "Too ugly to prostitute, too stupid to steal." The light had turned red and we were stopped right by him, and I just laughed. I mean, damn. Actually, he wasn’t too ugly to prostitute, but the sign just cracked me up. I reached into my pocket and pulled out a couple dollars, waved him over and thanked him. Mom gave me a look and I just shrugged and said that I believed in rewarding originality.
Plus he made me laugh.
It kind of reminds me of going to Olympia with Maili. When she and I go together, I have to put about 20 dollars in small bills in one pocket, and all of our spending money in another. I also generally carry a second pack of cigarettes for her, because if anyone asks for a cigarette or a handout, she’ll give a little something over. I used to be frustrated at this until our brother decided he’d rather live on the streets then clean up his act and live with either us or Maili. And I really can’t say anything, because I do drop money in musicians’ cases if I like their music and as I said before, if they make me laugh, or think, then I definitely leave them a little something. I just wish I could do more in some cases.
The weekend was a good one, I suppose. Didn’t do much Saturday, worked a little bit on the maile and watched T.V. and the like. But Sunday I woke up and realized that there was only 18 days till Court was going to be here. I was in a "gotta get shit done!" mood. So I cleaned up my bedroom. I still have to clean up my bookshelf and move some things around, buuut, it’s cleaned.
We had it planned for the table to be delivered for my gaming room, so we had to get the garage cleaned up. We had invited the gaming group to come over and help and the like, but wasn’t sure who was showing up and when. Mom and I pulled my bed frame out of the garage and used some wood oil stuff to rub it down really well. We were in the middle of wiping down the headboard when Matt showed up. He offered to clean out the garage, so he moved everything out of it, swept out all the cobwebs and swept the floor. We were going to scrub the floor down but figured that’d be overkill. So for a while, our lawn looked like a bad ghetto yard sale. Mom and I finished the bed and started to sort through the stuff that came from the garage, tossing what needed to be tossed, bringing inside some of the things that needed to be brought inside. Matt had to go to work at 2:30 or so, and Trill was going to be at the Transit center at around 1:45 since she was heading in from Seattle, so Matt and I went to pick her up and I offered to buy pizza at Old School Pizzeria. We got pizza, came home, ate, and Matt had to go so we wished him well. Trill and I put together my bed and moved thing around in my room. I don’t like where the table is, so I’ll have to either deal with it, or move it around some more.
Joe called to let me know he was on his way and the like. He also told me that two of the chairs had paint on them and were worried about it, I told him it was for a gaming room and not to worry. ::laughs:: I’m excited for the game on Wednesday, I want to see what the group says bout our table. We have a lot of work to do still in there… when I get my loan money we’re going to be dry walling almost all the walls in there (minus the one with electrical), putting down some outdoor carpet to help with the whole coldness on the feets thing, changing out the light fixture to a fluresent one, so we can get some real light out there, and get some screens for the doors so we don’t have to worry about the bugs. ::nods:: Not to mention getting the shelves built for all of our stuff, and getting the decor up and going. Oh, and getting my corner for my beading / maile. So yeah, it’s fun times. ::nods::
Well, time for work, so I’ll leave off here. Let’s just say it was a busy day yesterday, no?
18 days?? seriously?!?? thats so awesome! sounds like youre keeping yourself busy for sure. take care!

That’s awesome you’ve got a gaming room. 🙂 I love your descriptions. I can so picture the “ghetto yard sale.” lol And good for you for giving to the poor and musicians! I like your criteria. <:3~

That is a funny sign. I saw one where the guy had written, “Yes – I’ll spend it on alcohol.” At least he was honest! Hope you had a good day at work.

RYN: Yeah, it’s at Old Chicago. They have a World Beer Tour which, at this location is 110 beers. domestic and imported. i’ve drank 29 lol. but the “mini tours” are spread out throughout the year. I just finished the Summer Mini Tour, i’ve also done the Cinco De Mayo one, attempted the st. patty’s day one and the i love beer one. they have an octoberfest and a christmas one as well. there’s8 beers in each mini tour and if you drink them all, you get a shirt haha. ryn2: yeah it’s definitely a plus having someone greet you and acknowledge your presence when no one else does. haha. i was sad because he wasn’t there today…but oh well…the day went well. I’mma write up a piece about the whole situation. 🙂 later! ~♥~
