Erase My Scars
There’s been more drama with my family. No, I lie. There’s been more drama with my mother. I’m not sure I really want to talk about it, but if I seem in a foul mood that’s why.
I had almost re-scheduled therapy tomorrow because of our move and my ankle. I am now glad I didn’t.
We went and signed our lease today! We also did our quick walk-through. The new place is definitely smaller and we’ll have to store some stuff (my antique furniture finds, mostly…boooooo). But for a second bathroom, a balcony, and a top floor with nobody walking above us…things in storage seem to be a minor consideration.
Poor Zoe is all confused about all of these boxes and the things that disappear into them with some frequency. But I know soon enough she’ll rule the roost at the new place.
We took her to the groomer yesterday. The owner is SO nice! We agreed that we would come back over here for her grooming, even though it will be about 15-20 minutes away (as compared to 5 now) because we thoroughly enjoy our experiences there. Although Zoe bit the woman yesterday! That stinker. She hates the wipes they use to "bathe" her because she won’t abide an actual bath. My smelly, stubborn kitteh. *shakes head*
So. My ankle. It is better. I am walking on it, albeit slowly and not for terribly long. Dieflying, btw my dear, I didn’t even *realize* that could have been taken any other way until I saw your second note. Then I laughed heartily. So no worries!!
In ANY event, here’s how it happened….
I am le dumb.
Seriously.
I wore LOAFERS outside after it had been slushy. Then I decided not to focus on where I was walking and next thing I knew, *WHUMP* I was on my back. Didn’t hit my head thankfully.
I must say, my ER experience was the most pleasant one I’ve ever had. I made the nurses laugh heartily. We were in and out in about an hour and a half, which isn’t bad considering I had x-rays and needed to be shown how to use the deplorable crutches. I also didn’t have a co-pay, because I work at the facility. Even though I’ve given them like 15 hours total, no co-pay. I will take it.
Speaking of work, things are going very well on that front. The first facility I worked with refuses to work with anyone else. *laughs* I guess that’s a ringing endorsement? So I will need to "go back" to them for a week sometime in March, then "return" (in quotes because I’ll still be at my desk at home) to the facility I’m working for currently. It’s slightly less money (20 cents an hour), but it’s only a week and I’ve developed a good rapport with everyone there. It’ll help in the long run to have an assignment that wants me on a semi-constant basis, just in case there is a week here or there where they don’t have anything for me. I can maintain a paycheck this way. I’m ok with this.
Speaking of work, one more case to finish up. Should go and take care of that. Just wanted to say hello and give a brief update, as we’ll be in the midst of moving soon and probably lacking in some time. 🙂

i like that you say you might be in a foul mood, and go on to write what reads like a very chipper entry 🙂 we’re the same with our new place. we have to store a lot of crap, but its worth it in the end.

Groomers in Kingston refuse to do cats and the ones who do charge more than they do for dogs because “Cats are harder to deal with.” Oh screw that and grow a pair! I’m sorry about your ankle. That must have hurt like a bitch. I hope the move is going well! *hugs*
