SO I’m pretty sick of people taking advantage of me…its really getting crazy.
People use my flight benifits like crazy and they dont talk to me all year except to ask me for benifits. I’ve been far too nice to say no, but I’ve gotta grow some balls…
Unless I talk to you regularly like once a month on the phone then I really shouldnt be asked to do you favors.
One of my good friends Jenn just asked to stay at my STUDIO apartment with me for 6 weekends in a row so she could work a booth at the ren fair and make some extra cash. Seriously? 6 weekends with her and her girlfriend (They are in a swing relationship, Jenn and her Husband with this girl Maddi) So 2 girls staying in my studio apt with me for 6 weekends in a row?! That sounds ridiculous and I can tell you right now I’d get NOTHING in return…
When were the days of you do something nice for someone and you take them to dinner or grab them a starbucks gift card…like I dont usually EXPECT anything when I do something nice for someone that I am really good friends with…but people I hardly talk to anymore.
Sorry to rant on you guys…crazyness basically.
I’m going to be spending this weekend in NY…practically canada…COLD….freaking COLD. Hopefully no delays.

I am the same way, I expect nothing in return. But girl, after awhile when people keep coming back for more without doing anything in return it wears on ya! My greatest advice is to say NO. You are not obligated to do anything nice unless you truly want to. If you feel taken advantage of, say no.

Yeah, I think for a lot of people, including me, it is way harder to stand up to people and tell them that they’re being lousy friends than it is to just go along with things. Awareness is the first step to changing it though!
