Week from HELL.

At Doug’s, finally! I’ve had the week from hell! Here is a re-cap.

Christmas- 14 hour day (No delays THANK GOODNESS) However, I got hit in the head HARD by this storage compartment that fell down. It still hurts. I was in so much pain, and I had a headache for like 5 days.

The 26th- I am supposed to have a short 6 hour day. Tri-cities, TN. We get there and the plane is late, then by the time the plane gets there there is ice on the wings. Here in Clearwater FLorida or in a 300 mile radius there is no de-icing fluid. So we are delayed 6 hours! So my short little 6 hour day turns into a 12 hour day. On top of that a passenger decided to get in my face and call me a bitch for absolutly no reason. I had a cop come on the plane to escort her off and then I ended up letting her stay off. I’m pretty sure she learned her lesson. She was shaking she was so scared. She made mention that she didnt make a lot of money so she couldnt afford to get home if she got kicked off and that struck a chord with me…cause I make crap too. I was walking out of the airport at 330am.

the 27th- We are delayed 5 hours and we have a bit of a longer day that day so we new it would be a late night. On the first flight I’m doing service and I ask a male passenger "Would you like to purchase any snacks or beverages?" He replied "Budlight" so I give him a budlight and then a passenger 2 rows back motions me to come over. I go over and the man says "I WILL have your job if you serve him again, He’s drunk" I was SO upset,…and SO tired from allll the delays I went into the galley and cried. Couldnt believe someone would be so mean to me. How on EARTH would I know the man is drunk from the one word he said to me. I’d never seen the guy prior cause I was in the back of the plane. I was SO upset. All I said to him in return was "For future reference, I was unaware, and there are nicer ways to word that" …then I walked away. I just was OVER it…and petrified to talk to passengers because I was so upset. Walking out of the airport at 415am.

The 28th- we were TOASTED me and the other flight attendants were just SO tired. We had a 230pm flight so we were pretty much working the SAME day that we got in from the second flight. We were seriously thinking about calling in fatigue so we called our boss because the next day we had a 14 hour day and we just werent sure we could do it. Luckily this day we got in on time for the most part but we were still toasted.

29th- Our boss hooked us up, took us off the second half of our day so we had a 9am flight and then were supposed to get in at 4pm. (Originally not supposed to get in till 10pm) So we were so happy to get hooked up like that. So we go to work at 9am and write our boss a thank you card with a 10 dollar gift card to starbucks as a thank you. We come in to work, and our plane is broken. Estimated to be fixed at 1230 so we figure okay…we will still get in at 730pm so its still early we will be fine. Plane gets fixed at 1230pm we get on and were off to Cedar rapids. We get ALMSOT all the way there and there is terrible fog and we cant get in, so we go to WI and land for a few hours untill a closer airport to CID gets opened from the fog. SO long story short we end up in Rockford IL and then finally another CREW and pilots with a different plane come pick us up because our pilots time out…we get on the taxi way about 1230am and this guy behind me starts throwing up BIG time so I rush to go get a trash bag and paper towels and then have to taxi back in because he was throwing up so bad he had to be cleared by a paramedic before he could fly. FINALLY we take off….I get home at about 330am…TOASTED. After listening to passengers BITCH the whole way home.

I’m still having a hard time sleeping because I’m so overly tired …I hope tonight I can fall asleep because I have to go back to work tomorrow. I’m hoping to GOD its not like this past week…although January tends to be WORSE than December.
