Today is the 12th, Im allllllmost halfway through my challenge! It has been harder than I thought in some ways, but actually easier in other ways. I’ve found it alot harder to control my ‘perving’ than I thought it would, it was obviously alot more automatic than I realised, but the physical side hasn’t actually been as hard as I thought, perhaps because my mind isnt always on sex now? (For those who asked, the challenge DOES include abstaining from masturbation too). All that said, I am fairly happy with how its going so far, just need a little more willpower to not look at passers by who I am naturally attracted to! Obviously my outcome is to not ever look again, that would be ridiculous, but just to gain some self control I guess. Anyway, enough about that for now!

Last night we got to go out WITHOUT baby for the first time in a while. We went and saw a Sydney based band called Extended Family that we had seen as a support act for another band last year (thought they sounded pretty good, grabbed their EP while we were there, got it out a couple of months ago and havent been able to stop listening since)! They were REALLY good, it was great to see them as a main act rather than the support act, they seemed so much more energetic and it was much more enjoyable this time! I would say they are sort of a fusion band, a mix of jazz/funk/bluegrass/rock (To all my Australian readers, go and check them out if you want to see something different and they are playing near you, their myspace has dates). It was for the launch of their new single ‘Yesterday Morning’, which is ok, but definitely not one of my favourites.

Anyway, we went with my best mate and his wife, which in hindsight was a mistake. Even though he is my best mate, our common interests seem to be fading each and every day. We just have less and less in common and not alot to talk about except for the past now, which is really unfortunate, especially becuase we dont really have many other friends besided them LOL! It just wasnt their thing though. I had a feeling they wouldnt really be into it before I asked them, but thought I may aswell ask because it had been a while between catchups. I think next time I will trust my original feeling and not invite them if I dont think its their sort of thing. I mean, they said they enjoyed it, but their body language didnt really say the same, and they kept checking their watches and wondering when the band was going to start because they had to work today. I think it would have been a much different and probably more enjoyable night if it was just Kati and I, and I feel a little disappointed because nights out for us dont happen all that often anymore, and I kind of feel like it was partly wasted last night or something, but on the other hand the band was awesome and once they started playing we kind of zoned out of the uncomfortable atmosphere and got into the band and their music and their atmosphere.
