Slept a little better last night, well this morning rather. The night wasnt the best sleep, but we did manage to sleep in most of the morning. I got up for about an hour, then went back to bed and didnt wake up till nearly 12pm! Not long after that was a knock at the door from the child and fam,ily health nurse. I invited her in then went and woke Kati and brought River out for a change. She was weighed and checked for various things, including different reflexes and things, all of which she passed well. She also was within a good range for her height and weight development since birth. All in all, it was a good appointment.

Later in the evening I sent Kati to get a massage from our massage lady (who lives about 4 doors down! We saw the sign when we first moved here, and I have been going regularly since, and Kati has been a few times too). She made a hanging mobile type thing with the letters RIVER. I dont really know how else to describe it, so I’ll post a photo tomorrow. While she was gone River slept pretty well. There was a guy here picking up something he won on ebay, then about 10-15 minutes later a call from my dad who was about 10 minutes away with the clothes dryer he was bringing round. River started to cry after we brought it in so I took her out to change and gave her to grandad for a hold. She was doing well and everyone was happy till she got hungry! There wasnt much we could do (dad is more patient than me having been through it all before!) so I boiled the kettle ready to sterilise the new dummy we had brought for her when I heard footsteps outside that happened to be Kati. Good timing! We only had to put up with about 5 or so minutes of uncontrolled crying. All in all it has beena good day though, and looks like another busy day tomorrow, then our day trip on Saturday will be nice before I go back to work.
