It is so quiet this morning.

Except for the Crested Pigeons calling out to each other.  They are such funny birds.  One starts the call and very soon another is imitating the same call.  It is different each time.  I like to put words to it and at present I can hear one calling, “not now, not now”.  They are wear their tap shoes at the moment and dancing on my roof.

The other noise if you can call it that, is my gorgeous beagle Buddy.  He is curled up on his chair, sound asleep and kind of whistling.

He is such a dear boy and such a good dog.  For a beagle he is very obedient.  I can let him run off his lead and he always comes when I call.  Which is unusual for a Beagle I am led to believe.

He will lag behind on our secret pathway, as I call it and I will get quite away in front of him.  I will call out, he will look up, have customary pee and then coming running or should I say flying past me and we begin again.  I am very fortunate to live with a street away from a terrific dog free oval fringing the creek. With great birdlife and trees everywhere.

There are always dogs to say hi to and then stand around with their owners and watch them having a ball.  Just being dogs.   It makes better pets of them to let them do their own thing, I believe.  That has certainly been the case with Buddy.  He loves the freedom of running around on his own and sniffing to his hearts content.

Amanda, Katie and I went for such a lovely walk last evening.   It is still warm for March.  Lots of folks around. Kids kicking balls. Young couples with prams, walking around the perimeter.    Mums and Dads with toddlers. There is a playground for the kids with BBQ and picnic tables.   Just a lovely feeling of community.   Our local council do such a great job looking after the park.  It is always spotlessly clean, no graffiti, and if their is any on the fences, it is painted over in a day.  So I think the graffiti vandals have given up.

We have another leash free dog park not far away. I have to take Bud in the car and he gets so excited when we turn into Eastfield Road.  The council built it about a year ago.  The dogs have a ball.

It is quite overcast today.  So I will probably stick around and do a bit of gardening, painting, and bit of reading.

The Pigeons are now saying “exactly exactly’.  Funny little birds.

The eyes on that bird are gorgeous!

My brother-in-law has two Beagles, who if you let off lead, will head for the hills,  no matter how much you holler come!  😀

I remember from very many years ago on Open Diary, you are an artist, you paint correct?  I remember your paintings and you are very talented.  Aren’t you also involved in theater?  I’m so glad you have your sweet dog to spend your days with.  Having a pet adds so much joy to ones life.  You take good care.
