This is a poem from Nicole’s diary when she was a Senior in High School.

If…Then…

If your life were a book,
What part would I be?
Would I be your prologue,
And set the standard
To measure the events?
Would I be a chapter,
Not meaningless,
But nothing more than a transition?
Would I be your epilogue,
And so be your happy ending,
Or your tragic conclusion?
Would I be an alternate ending,
Just a possibility,
An unlikely dream?
Or could you love me throughout it?
Could you share your novel,
And make it ours?
Or would you rather me a punctuation,
Just a speck
Trapped in your endless series of words?
When you grow old,
And sift back through the pages of life,
What part will I be?
