Her circle of friends grew significantly. She didn’t care what you looked like or what you did. If you were a friend to her, you were her friend forever. Because we traveled a lot and her friends were going off to make their way in the world, she had friends in Lawrence, Wichita, Texas, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Ireland, France, British Columbia, Germany and the Armed Forces. She wrote and emailed each of them keeping track of what was happening in their lives and sharing everything she was doing. It was as if there was no distance between them.
