Decisions

Just a random scribbling

Life is full of decisions, some so small yet some that impact the rest of your life. So many different routes open up after one.

Everyday, you make decisions. What to do, where to go, who to see. Some seem so insignificant that we don’t realise that we’re making them like what socks to wear, which way we’re going to walk to get to a destination or what we’re going to have for dinner. But then there a massive decisions, such as career paths, what we’re going to do with our lives and who we’re going to make these decisions with.
With life being so unpredictable, some decisions at the time seem so small and minute but can have a massive impact for our futures.

Decision – ‘The act of reaching a conclusion or making up one’s mind’. Choices, options, selections. It seems so strange that this ‘decision’ can have so many positive effects and yet so many devastating ones, both at the same time. It also seems strange that we can choose some decisions and others we can’t. We can’t help what happens to us after we make the choice, can’t choose who we grow to accept and love and when that will happen.

You can only have a certain part to play within a decision, a very small part. Actions after that first decision, will only lead to more, harder ones. And who do we turn to for advice and influence? The people that have grown to accept. But then again, this throws up more options to choose from. Opinions can only have a slight impact for our lives, but ultimately we decide what we do.

At the time, choosing something may seem so unimportant, not realising what the effect would be 2 minutes, 2 days or 2 years down the line. If you really think about the little decisions, like what socks to wear, you think about it for longer and you start having doubts about which pair – the black ones or the ones with the smiley faces? If we’re doubting Socks, then whats to say that we have doubts and insecurities about the bigger choices.

I’m not happy with some of the choices I’ve made within my life, but in contrast to that, i’m extremely over the moon with what I’ve decided. The actions and decisions I made earlier in my life have shown me a good path of decisions for the future.

I have to thank one person particularly for that. For you, I truly do thank you, A.M
