what do we talk about when we talk about love?

do we talk about the first time?
do we unearth your past and mine?
do we wonder if we’re sure?
do we care that we’re spoken for?
do we mind that we’re spoken of?
do we say lust and mean love?
do we talk of vagina and penis?
do we consider both oceans between us?
do we make love with our eyes closed and our ears open?
do we try and stop the clock?
do we laugh when we fuck?
do we thank the gods? or just our good luck?
do we tell night from day?
do we write what we can’t say?
do we read the print before we sign?
do we even look at the dotted line?
do we mention the past?
do we plan the future?
do we discuss hope?
do we conceal the hunger and relish the taste?
do we regret when we lie?
do we almost break up before the glue is completely dry?
do we laugh at inevitable pain?
do we calculate gain?
do we refuse to take and insist on giving?
do we give by receiving?
do we forgive bad days?
do we forget birthdays?
do we remember the words to our slightly dusty but still favorite songs?
do we argue about  respect?
do we really know what to expect?
do we promise to be in love forever?
do we contemplate sanity?
do we humiliate vanity?
do we conflict?
do we initiate?
do we interrogate?
do we question?
do we threaten to leave without warning?
do we promise to empty the threats into the trash tomorrow morning?
do we fight for it?
do we die for it?
how can we not live for it?

I love it, even though my brain now hurts from unsuccessfully contemplating the answers. That last bit is especially wonderful, reminds me of that part in Catch-22 “There are now 50 countries fighting in this war. Surely so many countries can’t all be worth dying for?””Anything worth living for is worth dying for.””Anything worth dying for is certainly worth living for.”

PS: hehe can’t quite remember when or how the German thing started, it’s like asking a junkie why and when they started doing it, it doesn’t matter all that matters is you have it now hahaha… Possibly grade 9 when I got into industrial music, the roots of which of course are GERMAN, and I guess it just snowballed from there. Even hip-hop is occasionally tolerable. Occasionally.

Hard questions.
