Give me a break, people!!!!! *sigh*
Finally caught up with OD… got my vacation stuff posted both here and on my webpage. I sure love my brother. He really makes my life wonderful… like little Christmas presents here and there.
Today was a little better than yesterday but somewhat aggravating at the Bux. I was on bar (working the espresso bar) from 5-11. That’s not supposed to happen. You’re really not supposed to have to do it that long. I only got relieved for maybe 45 minutes the whole time I was there today and I was really over it by the time I got off. I was ready to pour steamed milk over my head and drown myself!
UGH!!
PUHLEEZE people… don’t lean over and watch us as we make your drink… it makes us nervous. And also, just give your order when you give your order… I hate it when there is a line up of drinks and then someone tries to give you additional instructions when you’re focused on getting this line of drinks fixed for a whole slew of people. *sigh*
The other thing that drove me crazy today… “Easy caramel caramel-macchiato please…” then coming back… “Please add more caramel to this..” so I add more and say, “Tell me when…” and the person watches as I keep adding more until I’ve added as much caramel as I always add to a caramel macchiato. (That happened twice!) What’s up with that?????
OYE VEY!!!! I realize the drinks are expensive but, gee whiz…. It’s not surgery, my friends!
Anyway, I DO try to make ‘em as perfect as possible. I stir every mocha ‘cuz I know that sludge in the bottom sucks. I time the shots and toss the super long and short ones. I pour out the old milk and only steam it to Sbux standard (twice) at MOST. I steam to exactly the right temperatures and follow when customers ask for extra hot or not-so-hot. I wipe off the milk wand after EVERY SINGLE STEAMING. I am a rule follower so that the customers get the very best possible drink. Therefore I am exhausted on the bar!!!! (But my drinks are usually really yummy.)
However, I could hardly think by the time I left.
I’ve been home and on the computer since about noon though… I suppose I should get my butt up and do some stuff around the house. What a joy five hours of just writing has been, however.
WOW………. What a HARD worker you are my dear……. I LOVED this entry…… It was really awsome…….I love it when you write about life out there………YAY Love you!
