Day 3 for My Husband and the Amsterdam 4

My husband called twice today plus I got two little video emails
from him created in the halls of the Heineken Experience (the brewery ;-)) and,
boy, did he look high! I guess he was really having the Heineken experience
LOL. R* was tucked in the corner of the
picture and looked pretty happy himself.

When my husband called this morning, it was evening there, in Amsterdam,
and they were getting ready to board the boat for their dinner cruise. They had been to the Anne Frank house and
even seen pages of her diary. He told me
that they got choked up when they were there.
He said the place was not as small as imagined, but still pretty small
if you think about eight people being there.

They also, again, had done a lot of walking and seen more
museums.

Later when he called back, they were sitting in the hotel
ready to pack it in for the night. He
said that the dinner cruise had been wonderful. There was a four or more course
meal with delicious salmon as the entrée.
It was about 10:30pm Amsterdam
time and he and R* were exhausted and ready to pack it in for the night. Smokz, Martz and some guys from Oregon
were headed out for the Red Light District or to some party place or something…
the Amsterdam wild life.

Boring me… I just worked today. Last night I made enough fruit salad to feed
over 15 people for tomorrow’s services at church. Tonight I made the soup. I am officially tired of cutting up fresh
fruits and vegetables!! In the past 48 hours I have cut up oranges,
grapefruits, bananas, grapes (took them off the stems), strawberries,
watermelon, (opened a can of pineapple chunks ;-)), raisins (poured them from
the box), also cut up yellow squash, zucchini squash, celery, carrots,
broccoli, parsley, cilantro, onion, garlic, red peppers, hot pepper, chick peas
(opened a can of), chicken, and I think I may be forgetting some other
stuff. The soup is essentially finished
although I will probably add some more broth and maybe a tad more chicken
tomorrow then let it simmer for another hour or so before serving it. One more round of cutting. I’m going to put
together a leafy salad of lettuce, cabbage, and other leafy stuff, then make
some cheesy bread, and that should do it for tomorrow night’s dinner.

Along with all of that I have cleaned the house top to bottom. This place is pretty spic an span except for my son’s room. My husband should be blown
away when he returns home! I’m hoping so at least. I feel so proud of myself I could burst plus
I like it when it’s nice like this. To
be honest I’ve been thanking God all along because it hasn’t even seemed like
me doing it. I know it’s God because I’m
a slob in myself. I’ve just been burning
with this cleaning energy that is not like me at all so I figure it’s the Holy
Spirit in me doing the cleaning because it hasn’t even seemed like work. I’ve almost enjoyed it… heck, I HAVE enjoyed
it. It has given me this weird sense of
satisfaction to be doing this cleaning!
Very bizarre….

My son is still feeling a little lousy but I can tell he is
somewhat improved. He’ll probably be out
of school again tomorrow.

Last, but not least, I loved Amazing Race tonight. I usually don’t watch it but I couldn’t pass
on my favorites, Rob and Amber! I’m crazy about Rob, he’s so much fun and he
was just as entertaining tonight as he was on Survivor. He’s smart and competitive but he always
affords a chuckle or two. I was really
rootin’ for them and they pulled into third place by the end of tonight’s show. I know a lot of people are saying, “Why do
they need to win? They’ve already won a million or more!?” But I say, “Why not?
They’re lots of fun and Rob is completely entertaining. Let them race their way
to another million as far as I’m concerned!”
Rob should have won that million that Amber won anyway. He deserves his own. I’m looking forward to watching this (until
Rob and Amber drop out anyway! ;-))

I’m rooting for Ray and Deana on the Amazing Race. They live in my town and my former BIL is good friends with Ray whom I have met before. Wow…congrats on getting the cleaning bug…wish I would catch it..lol! 🙂

I forgot that The Amazing Race was on and missed most of it…but I liked how they encouraged each other, unlike one of the couples when the guy told his partner to “suck it up.” They seem to work well with each other.
