Been extremely busy getting ready to go vist my Mother again. Got my tree up, laundry done, presents ready for various folks, lunches made for my husband and son for the next 10 days, yukky canned food that they like to eat purchased for while I’m gone (Mr. Boyardee will be their chef in my absence).

My mom sounded so depressed last time we talked. I hope we can cheer her up a bit while we’re there. I’m just not ready for her to slip into oblivion. Actually, I’m feeling a bit down myself… for no good reason… well, maybe because we’ve just been spending too much money. This darn holiday is expensive. I’m so sick of commercialism and presents and Santa Claus (whom you already know I think is a tool of satan, to say the least). I love my church where I can go and think of Advent and what it REALLY means and what this season REALLY means to ME. .. Waiting expectantly… hoping… anticipating. I love Advent, but I’m sick of jolly old St. Nick.
