One Exception: 54 Ounces of Skittles

Tots can say his numbers up to eleven now.  He likes to say them over and over, which is funny to hear.  Sometimes, he gets to eleven, which rhymes with seven, and starts counting from there.  "Wan, two, fee, four, fie, six, sven, eight, niiiiiine, ten, leven, eight, niiiiine, ten, leven."  He also really likes singing the Alphabet song, but especially the end part.

So, Pi’s schedule isn’t back to normal, like I thought, and we had Family Day today instead of Thursday.  Since Shleprock usually has band practice on Wednesdays, we didn’t end up over there like we would have on a Thursday.  It was a good day.

I got to the dump in the nick of time.  Nothing like having to drive to the dump with a big bag of smelly garbage, only to have to drive back home with said bag of smelly garbage.

Then we played outside for a while, chasing around.  Tots is very proud of himself that he can get up the ladder on his playset.  Before, he always asked for help, only to make you have to just put him in the thing.  He gets to the top, stands up and shouts, "Did it!"  It’s funny to watch him go up, stand for a moment, go down the slide and then do it all over again.

We hung around the house for a little while after, trying to figure out what we wanted to do.  Pi decided that he wanted to check out the free trial to BJ’s, so we did.

Trying not to spend too much money, I didn’t pick anything out.  Pi, on the other hand, went a little crazy.  It was all good stuff, like 36 rolls of Scott toilet paper, and soda to bring to work.  I think I could only go there if I had a list and forced myself to stick to it, with no exceptions.  There were a few things that I looked at, and made mental notes for future reference.

We ended up getting pizza for dinner.  I ordered it on the way back to North Puddles, and went in to pick it up.  Tots was a little hungry, and didn’t want me to go inside to get it.  When I came back, he saw the pizza box, and exclaimed, "Pizza!"  He said nothing but pizza over and over all the way home.

Our dining room table, so far, has seen little actual dining.  Usually, it holds all the stuff we don’t know what to do with, or stuff we don’t want Tots getting into that we don’t know what to do with.  Right now, though, it’s relatively clear because of Pi’s birthday taco party.

We got home, and Tots went to the table and sat down, asking and then slightly demanding some pizza.  So we had our first dinner at a table together.  Pi propped Tots up with a stack of blankets so he could reach his plate.  It was nice.

All in all, we had a good day.  Tots was a good boy, for the most part.  He’s on a "good" streak, which is very nice for everybody.  We enjoyed our time together, had a nice little pizza dinner, and Tots went to sleep before the first chorus of the song I sing him.

*happy sigh*

I love your kid stories. He cracks me up; real little individual now.

Next, he can combine counting and going up the ladder!
