Music + Toys = Yay! and Oops
I have questions. First, how do I get pictures on here. Secondly, how do I do DePhoMo? I am kind of proud of completing NoJoMo and am up for a new challenge.
We had a pretty good day today. Before Tots took his nap, we were listening to a variety of different music and dancing quite a bit. I’m not a great dancer but often an enthusiastic one, in the privacy of my apartment. He really liked "54-46 (That’s My Number)" by Toots and the Maytals. When it got to the part where Toots sings, "Give it to me one time" and so on, he would stop and bop his little fist onto Pi’s computer chair the right number of times. He also liked "Electric Avenue" by Eddy Grant. Of course, there we also listened to/watched the official video of "Another One Bites the Dust," which is followed by Tots’s impression of Freddie Mercury. Monday, he was rocking out to some Mozart and Beethoven that came on Pandora radio. Imagine him waving his little arms around, bopping up and down.
After Pi came home and had a minute to sit, I suggested that he and Tots play with the Lincoln Logs. The box says that they’re for kids age 3 and up, but after only a couple of minutes, he figured out how to stack them the right way. Pi started to make this weirdly shaped tower thing, and Tots helped. Whenever he put a log on, he would throw his arms up in the air and shout, "Yay!" We didn’t even initiate that, so it was even cuter that he did that. Of course, sometimes, one or more logs would fall and Tots would say, "Oops," and keep stacking. I got a bit of the Lincoln Log action on Pi’s camera, and when I handed it off to Pi, he got footage of the inevitable fall of the tower. I watched it after, and it was pretty awesome. It all kind of fell at once.
Tots had so much fun that, when I said the word "show" a few times, he didn’t even look up. Normally, if you even say show in general, he’s all over my computer chair, pointing and asking for his show. It’s like, "Show. show. Sho-oooow. Show? Show. Yeah, show." Even when I asked him if he wanted to watch his show outright, he said no. He only wanted to make his own little towers, just to have them fall down. (More Yay! and Oops.)
We did end up watching half an episode, and I skipped it to the end theme song, because I feel like it gives the "show" time come completion. When the credits are over, we hear a little girl’s voice say, "Little airplane," and Tots looks at me with kind of a shrug as he says, "All done."
After we put the Lincoln Logs away, he wandered around the house with the only one he didn’t want to put in the box. He was holding it up to his right ear, like a cell phone, babbling away. (I would like to mention that when Pi talks on the phone, he wanders around the house with his phone on the right side.) Occasionally, he would hand me his "phone," and I would say stuff like, "Oh yes, Tots is a good boy" or "Tots is good at sharing his toys with other people."
Then it was bath time. You know those little foam letters that stick to the side of the bathtub? He likes to hold the letters up that have holes in them to his face and say, "I see you." He usually gives me one to do that, too. Then he was pushing the S around like a boat making boat noises. The S boat always crashes into the sides of the tub or sometimes his belly. He’s so funny.
Finally, he just woke up crying. As I walked into his room, he quieted down and said hi to me. It was adorable. Now, he’s back to sleep and all is quiet.
As far as DePhoMo, there was one person doing it before, but they stopped. Now there are at least two. Here is one: DePhoMo2010 . Go to that diary and you’ll get their version, but it’s basically, post a picture every day. For pictures, there are different options, but I use Photobucket, which actually links to OD if you sign in while you’re at this site. http://photobucket.com/ You upload your pictures and then you can use that address to post them in your entries. Let me know if you have questions. The only thing about Photobucket is that I don’t know if the pictures are secure, so don’t go putting up anything weird or illegal.

Wow. I can’t wait to see him! Your entries are a really good memoir of his babyhood. I hope you keep it up. I think whenever Lovely comes up I’m going to try to make it a point to have what I am dubbing, “Little Cousins Brunch.” Grandma would have been so happy to see all the new little people in the family, so I think it’s pretty important that they know each other. Know what I mean? I upload all my photographs to Snapfish, but Pip says if you upload them to PhotoBucket you can use the sidebar (which I have shut off at the moment) to easily put pictures in. If you need help, maybe I can walk you through it (one way or the other) over the phone, if you don’t get it before then. And as far as DePhoMo, go to my 11/30 entry and there is a note from the person who is running it and you can go over and link to it. *smiles*
