[excellent date]
Greg and I had a massive date day yesterday! He scored free tickets to the North American International Auto Show, which happens in Detroit every year. It’s a gathering of new and prototype cars from almost every manufacturer out there, where you can get up close and personal, and often even sit inside, many types of cars and trucks. We have gone once or twice before, and always enjoyed it.
Yesterday morning we went out for brunch at a local place, then headed to Detroit for the auto show. We spent about four hours walking around down there, then headed back toward home. We had dinner and drinks at Olive Garden, then headed out to a park a couple cities away and sipped on coffee while walking around looking at ice sculptures (they have this ice festival every January). It was very, very cold outside, so we didn’t linger too long. It was a wonderful day together 🙂
This morning we got up and I made us breakfast (German apple pancakes), and we hung out until he had to leave for work at 5:00. I’ve spent the time since then working on laundry and studying. Greg gets off at 11:00 tonight, so he should be home in about an hour.
I don’t know how many times I’ve logged on here and started to write an entry, only to have nothing to say! Things are as usual around here. We are busy, I am constantly running between work and school. But things are good. Greg is looking into a new job at the company his brother-in-law works for. It would be running a machine cutting glass and plastic, daytime hours with full benefits. I am keeping my fingers crossed!
Our anniversary is less than two months away. That thought occurred to me recently. We will be together ten years, married for eight. The numbers themselves seem impossibly high, yet it feels as though we’ve never been apart. I guess we essentially grew up together, having been with each other since high school. I am blessed to have him in my life!
Ok, back to studying!
