Furnace Back on Line / Upstairs Work @#*
Open Diary was driving me to distraction Saturday. It was back to the old tricks of glacial loading and time outs. My thanks to “spilled perfume” for letting me know I needed to add a symbol to my heading for my entry to show up as “new”.
Friday was not so much a cold day as it was damp. The gas logs were doing a fairly good job keeping the front of the house livable, but the back end was still chilly and damp. Finally at 4:00 I was contacted by the appliance store the blower wheel had been delivered.
I’m on a first name basis now with the counter guys. Soon as I entered they asked for my Visa card. Oh,,,Oh…what now? It was then explained they had to cancel out my charge, and enter a new transaction as there had been a misquote on the price. The blower wheels actual price to me was $30.00 and change! Quite a change from the $115.00 I was originally charged. I was ecstatic! Monday I’m going to drop off some donuts to the store as a “thank you” for being so honest with me.
It was a simple job now to connect the blower wheel to the shaft and get the furnace functional again. I was so happy to hear the heating cycle go through ending with the “whoosh” of igniting gas. I had to have this furnace installed immediately when I bought my house in August 1996. I can’t believe it is 17 years old now…it will always be “the new furnace” to me.
I can never replace the friends I left back in Lockport. However, through the magic of Facebook it is easy to still have interaction. My friend Ray posted how he was sick of the song “Christmas Shoes”. I’m not familiar with that piece, but from the comments he received I can imagine it is horribly depressing and sad. To cheer him up I just posted this Youtubes of “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” played on a Regina music box! What a horrible tune for a music box! Billy sold a copy of this disc years ago on E-bay under the description: lovely Christmas tune! You have to laugh… it gets me through the day!!!
Stumpy just left my lap and is curled up on the bed. He has been demanding lots of loves and huggs lately.
Work in the upstairs is progressing. I’m putting primer on the walls and ceiling of the bathroom today. This area is so tiny I going to just use a brush.
The curtains were delivered Saturday. I just did a “mock up” to see how things are going to look. I decided to install a bit of Freize into the peak to give some color and interest. The green for the wall will be close to the green in the wallpaper sample. I need to do this kind of “teaser work” to keep me inspired to keep on.

It is another gray rainy day. Perfect for working inside drinking coffee and listening to weekend NPR.

Good of you to take the guys donuts. They will appreciate it. I liked the music box – couldn’t recognize the melody but I’m tone deaf and have no sense of rthythm – and can’t spell it either. g
