I Got Back a Bakery

              One of my favourite Amos and Andy radio programmes is a show that was a “New Years Eve” broadcast where-by Andy did not receive an invite to the big New Years Eve party.

One quote from that programme has so affected my life is when  Amos said, “I done cast a few crumbs on the water and I got back a bakery.” This literally proved true this past Friday.

Last week I had an entry of how this student had a bit too much to drink and was in dire need of help. I could sympathize as I have been in that situation way back in my youth. By taking care of this young man I imagined I was repaying those who looked over me in similar circumstances.

Friday afternoon I was just heading out to Bucks for an impromptu chili dinner. A white SUV pulled up. This lady got out who looked vaguely familiar. She had a box of cookies in her hands. She reminded me she picked up the boy who had a bit too much to drink Saturday night. She told me how embarrassed he was for what had happened and wanted to give me a little something.

There was this note in an envelope on the box.

I was so taken aback never expecting anything like this. There was an address on the envelope to which I plan a response. I failed to get any contact information of the “pick up & cookie delivery” lady who was so nice. I want to extend an invite to them to see the bricks and fire hydrants the next time they are together in town for a game or whatever.

This is an unconventional way to meet people, but Karma works in strange ways!
