What do you do?? A vent….

What do you do when people you despise are getting rewards for what they do when you know they are total garbage heaps???!!!!

I play in the SCA, Society for Creative Anachronisms, a historical re enactment group. Politics run deep within the group and it drives me crazy!!! People who do lots behind the scenes are rarely ever recognised but those who stick their faces in the butts and faces of the mucky-i-mucks get awards and recognized. ARGH!!!! I’m rarely out there in public, preferring to stay behind people and do my own stuff very quietly. I like sewing/costuming and gladly do it for people who appreciate it. I don’t do it to get awards or recognition. I do it because it makes people I care about happy and it’s something I’m really good at and I love doing it. I’ve been a professional costumer over the years and this is just one of those outlets for my creativity.

Today I read on one of the Yahoo groups that is linked to the local SCA group that a woman who is a total bitch is getting one of the highest honors the Society offers. I am speechless!! While she has done lots in one area of arts and sciences, she has always had a self-serving attitude about it and those of us who have HAD to work with her see her for what she really is, a total and complete bitch! And yet, the crown has decided to give her highest honors for her "work" even though she’s a real "piece of work"!!! ARGH!!!!!! It makes me want to just withdraw completely and quit this stupid game!!! I really hate it when people I know who are very deserving of awards like this are getting ignored and bitches like her are recognised! Unfortunately this has happened more than I care to speak of and it just upsets me whenever it happens. Few redeeming thing have happened as a result of me joining this group, like some of the people I call friends and some of the things I’ve learned about history along the way. I sometimes don’t know if it’s worth the frustration!
