Sun Day Hike Pictures
Like I mentioned earlier, I declared last Wednesday a Sun Day (vs. a Snow Day) and we went hiking. A low-commitment hike, only half an hour away, and not too long either, only about an hour. It was a really fun getaway though, and break from the routine.
The weather has finally been lovely (apart from a sudden wind/rain storm that only lasted about 10 minutes, but was super-intense, of course while I was walking from the school to the car & driving home…) and we’ve gotten in quite a bit of outside time – hence all the picture entries!
On the way up the mountain, we looked for all the “hibernation holes” – so many among the tree roots & rocks. Maine is so rocky…
This chipmunk looks possessed!
A really cool tree:
… with more animal homes in it:
This gives a little bit of a sense of the grade of the hill:
Another unusually-shaped tree. I told Owen he could ride this one like a horse.
They thought the Y-shaped branch that got hung up in the branches of another tree was really cool:
Siblings!
Owen things he’s being funny; Madelyn is not impressed:
We brought the dog, too. He had a great time, zipping along.
Views, almost at the top:

Not bad for a short break between art (Owen) in the morning and church choir (both) & work (me) in the afternoon/evening!
Love your pictures.

Wow, beautiful! And the kids look super cute too! Love the idea of a sun day. Definitely have to take advantage of this great weather while it’s here!
