Learning Spanish

Uno) I BOOKED MY TRIP TO MAUI. February 5-10. Solo, for now, but hopefully I’ll have someone by then that can just buy a ticket and come with me. At least for a couple days. MUST GET IN SHAPE. Once this damn sickness subsides, gym-time for me.

Dos) I LOVED the apartment I looked at yesterday and put in an application immediately. Also put in the money to save the place from being viewed by anyone else. I should hear by Monday or Tuesday whether or not my application is approved… the only reasons it wouldn’t be are:

– My credit. When I got my credit card a few months ago, it came with a free credit report. I had never seen my credit before. It basically consisted of NO credit cards ever, one car lease in good standing, and like $900 of medical bills on collection. Luckily I took the reigns and called the collection agencies and set up payment plans. Plus the new credit card which has been paid in full every month.

– My criminal history, which is quite colorful. In chronological order: Theft, MIP, Lying to a public servant, Possession of Marijuana (dismissed), and a DUI. All within 2 years with the last occurring 7 years ago. So yeah, go me. No felonies though… (DUIs aren’t felonies in the good ol’ USA, Canada friends.)

I emailed my current landlord and was like, “LISTEN BITCH” – okay maybe not like that. But I basically said I couldn’t stand my downstairs neighbors making so much noise and I needed to move. She said okay… there is someone viewing it on Sunday which means I need to clean the shit out of it. Literally. The shit. Because my cat doesn’t poop in the catbox.

The bummer, which I’m trying not to focus on, is that I’m SO BUSY socially in the next couple weeks, which is when I’ll need to be focusing on packing and getting my finances in check to pay for all this shit. I’d like to have extra time so I can fit time-sensitive things in like seeing Will again (when oh when will I have time?!) so I’ll probably have to bail on other commitments for awhile. People should understand, yes?

Tres) Will texted me last night, “You’re still sick? You poor thing. I hope you get better soon.” It’s a strange dynamic, you know… because we know each other but not really. Not really anymore. It’s like trying to put puzzle pieces together that used to fit but are now a little warped, maybe a little stronger and not as easily mold-able. You think they’d just go right where they used to be, but you have to work a little harder at it than you expect. But it’s better this way.

Quatro) I’m late to the party here, but I love the Rihanna song “Only Girl in the World” – since I started cleaning, I started to listen to poppy music because it’s more motivating than my folky-alternative default.

Cinco) My sickness has morphed into a head cold which means runny nose, sneezing all the time and sinus pressure. Headaches. But at least I don’t feel like I need to be laying down all the time. I can actually move faster than slow-motion. Side not, I just blew my nose and my nose ring popped right out. I am a powerful blower. 😉
