Where did this come from?

I had a fabulous weekend.  It wasn’t filled with much, but I got to spend some time with valued friends for half of it.  Sunday was a lazy day, but enjoyable.

Friday I got a call from Aerotek, which if you are unfamiliar with it, it is sort of a recruiting agency.  They work with companies to find people to fill jobs, and it works out well for both the people looking for jobs and for those who need positions filled.  Anyways, we set up an interview for Monday morning.  I asked a friend who got her job through Aerotek and she said it was just a very informal interview–they asked about my resume, talked about jobs I’d want, etc etc.  It’s not for a specific job at this moment, but just to join for their services really.

Well Monday morning I woke up with no voice.  The last time I had no voice from a cold was back in high school, and that wasn’t even me not having a voice.  That was just having tonsils too big and swollen and sore to talk.  The most I could speak outloud Monday was a whisper.  I took some Dayquil and tried talking to myself, in hopes that my voice would come back, but it didn’t. I emailed him to reschedule.  So far, the interview is for tomorrow, and he said if we absolutely had to we could push it back til Thursday.  I’d like to push it back to Thursday, based on how shitty I’m feeling today, but I feel like a flake.  At least if I show up, even if I’m not feeling good, he can see i’m not flaking out. I really am sick.  He said it should only last a half hour.  I’ll just make sure I wake up early enough to get drugged up so by the time I get there at 9:30 am, I won’t be coughing up a storm or anything.

I also got an email from Kelly Scientific Resources requesting a phone interview.  It’s another recruiting agency, but it’s for an actual job position.  Again…no voice, but thankfully, she offered to have the interview Thursday or next Monday. Obviously I went with the latter.  I’m not sure where the hell this sickness came from, but I hope by Monday I will have the sniffles at most =/

I wrote a little more in here before my internet went out and didn’t save what I wrote, so I will just leave it at this for now.  I will update soon.

x Peace x

yeah a lot of those recruiting agency interviews are pretty informal and don’t necessarily mean much. Its a lot more about the what the client wants….An actual job position like the second one had helps…..but since its a phone interview there will likely be at least another interview afterward (before u get the job)……not that any of that is a bad thing, just trying to help u get a littlemore of a feel for the process. Good luck and get your voice back soon!
