First World Problems

Haha, my mate Simon from Loughborough has posted the last 10 years’ new year’s eves on Facebook and it’s got everyone reminiscing “Oh yeah, that was the party where this happened.” I’ve been friends with these people since 2005 and we’ve done so much together, even been on holiday. I really want to stay in touch with them. The last few weeks have been a bit better for keeping in touch so all hope is not yet lost.

I finished knitting my bandana cowl last night! It’s slightly lop-sided and seems to have a bit of a bent nose (any tips on how to avoid? Maybe I did too many rows on the middle stitch of the point), but it’s my first go at knitting on a circular needle so I’m quite pleased with it, especially as I did it over a weekend :o)

If you can’t figure it out, see my last entry to see the photo that came with the pattern.

Seeing as Christmas is over and there are no more birthdays for a while, I decided to spend my Swagbucks earned Amazon voucher on myself! Ooooo, how selfish. So I bought a cute labrette in the shape of a lizard.

I also bought a Discworld book that I don’t have (there aren’t many of those), a Karl Pilkington book and a book of beanie knitting patterns, so I’m excited to get started on those.

Bad news, though. About a month ago I got a bit of a crack on my car windscreen. It didn’t do anything else so I left it. But today, it decided to grow, I have no idea why. It even grew about three inches while it was sitting in the car park at work. What the hell? By the time I’d driven home, it was about eight inches long. I got some quote for some companies and I’m getting it replaced tomorrow at the princely sum of £108. Damn you car! I have a holiday in Florida to pay for! #FirstWorldProblems.

That looks great! I’m too sleep-deprived to think of or explain lucidly the few things that could’ve caused that. The good news is, no one will be able to tell when you’re wearing it ’cause of how they sit XD

if you get a tiny chip in glass it can be filled cheaply. If you dont fill it the cold can cause it to splinter causing a crack to form and continue to grow. We get chipped windows quite often here from rocks kicking up off the road. I usually pay $20 to fix the chip compared to $200 to replace the whole window. Cars are just too expensive!

Boo about the windscreen! X

Sometimes you can get your windscreen fixed on your insurance without losing no claims, might be worth looking into.

RYN: Fair enough, I think my windscreen excess is only £50.

RYN: Huh?

Good job with the knitting! Great job on the colour selection as well.
