The Fog Has Lifted
I finally feel half-way human again. I went to work yesterday, although I probably should have stayed at home in the bed at least one more day. I had too much work to catch up on. I have deadlines, people! If only I had just left my desktop running, I could’ve worked from home yesterday. Since I had no way to access my PC, though, I drug my unkempt, unshowered self into the office and propped my head up against the monitor every time I felt like I might not make it another five minutes. I completed my most important tasks as quickly as possible in hopes of getting home a little early. Around 4pm, after resorting to swiping entire rolls of toilet paper from the women’s stalls in an effort to catch my runny nose and after smiling sarcastically when a coworker told me I looked like "death," I headed home.
I felt about 75% better when I awoke this morning. Hopefully, tomorrow will be 100%. I was finally able to shower (seeing as how I can now stand for extended periods without getting sick), and I don’t look quite as frightening today. I actually slept through the night, as well. I’m sure my neighbors are just as grateful. Considering how clearly I can hear the usual moans and groans from the other side of my bedroom wall, my late-night coughing fits were probably just as sleep disruptive for them. I have, however, learned that if I sleep with a Ricola cough drop in my mouth, choking hazard as it may be, the coughing is not nearly as incessant.
I did get one little moment of cheer yesterday. My Xbox 360 came in. I had grown accustomed to its brilliant graphics when Bobby was around. Since he’s now gone (as is his console), I ordered a new one last week. I conned my mom, dad, and brother into giving me Amazon gift certificates for my birthday, so I only had to foot the bill for half of it. I was a little perturbed when I got the delivery notification from DHL yesterday morning, though. I left a huge note on my door specifically telling the delivery man to leave the package at the apartment office. Did he? No. He left it on my front porch. I had to go home on my lunch break so as not to leave a $400 gaming system sitting on my doorstep free for the taking. I did have quite a grand time playing my favorite arcade game for hours upon hours last night, though.
No word yet (if I’ll get one at all) from David. If my calculations are correct, he should receive the letter today. My dad sent me a birthday card last week, and it took four days to get here from Arkansas. The letter’s going to a small town in Pennsylvania, so it will probably take the same amount of time to reach him. It went out on Friday, so he should be sitting down to read it this evening. I try not to think too much about it, but Alsie reminds me every day. She thinks he’ll call. She says she just has that feeling.
I’m going to tan this evening after work. I had been going fairly regularly, but then I got hit with this whole flu thing. My mom swears up and down that the UV lights are antidepressants. Since being sick always gets me a little down, I figure I’ll give it a shot. After that, my apartment is in serious need of cleaning and laundry is in serious need of doing. I also need to do a little grocery and household shopping. Kitty litter is a must. I felt like such a bad kitty parent when I finally cleaned out the box last night. I’m usually so diligent about keeping it clean, but for the last four days, I could barely stand for ten minutes without puking. There’s no way I would’ve survived pooper scooping.
Speaking of my kitties, have you ever noticed that animals always seem to know when you’re sick or otherwise down? Both of my cats crawled all over me the entire time I was home. I snapped this Monday afternoon…
Elvis always knows how to make me feel better.
I just realized that I didn’t really have anything terribly exciting to write about today.
Cheers,
Felina
I’m glad you’re feeling better. I hope you get to feeling 100% soon! That’s a really cute pic of you and your kitty. It is strange how animals seem to know when something is wrong.

Uvs do help- thats why they have people with seasonal affective disorder sit in front of lights once in a while
Warning Comment
Sunlight does make people feel better. Seasonal affective disorder is prevalent, and is treated with a certain kind of light therapy. BUT…. Please keep you skin nice and pale. 🙁 No skin cancer for you. Malignant melanoma is deadly. Me rikey you too much for that. Plus, pale is sexy. I’m pale, and I’m SUPER sexy. 😀

Hey! I forgot to ask you. Did you go to the doctor to find out what was wrong with you, or did you just ride it out? Christopher is coughing like a mad man and he threw up last night.

The tanning is an antideppresant. Look up Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), its most common in women in the winter months and something that helps it is bright light! Im glad you arent sick anymore!

(1) You’re hot in a t shirt and lounging. (2) That cat is pretty. (3) Does yoru favorite video game involve shooting zombies? If so I shall start building a shrine to you, NOW.

My kitty cuddles me when I don’t feel well too. They’re very intuative little creatures. Of course, my kitty thinks I’m his mommy.
