remi lucille came today at 11:48 am.

i started having crampy contractions like killer menstruation at 5 am. they never got very consistent or close together.

jace woke up early and i about killed myself having to care for him and go through contractions.

they were so painful, and i was overdue anyway, that i figured they wouldnt turn me away from l&d if i went in. jeff’s fam came to take jace just in time.

those contractions were nothing like jace. i thought i was dying.

got to the hospital about 9:45. got checked in, nurse checked my dilation. she’s like, ‘oh, youre a 7. guess we’d better get your epidural if youre gonna have one…’

so i had to have fluids rushed, which hurt. then my doc came and everyone was talking to me and i was just NOT in the talking frame of mind. once the epidural was in (so hard with very painful contractions), i was in a much happier state.

they gave me a bit of time and broke my water. with jace, i was completely numb. this time, i could feel pressure and the tiniest sensation of crowning and such.

everyone left me for a while and then it was time to push. i pushed maybe 11 times.. through 3 contractions.

today was her due date according to her ultrasound. jace came on his, too. they weighed the same, 7 lbs, 1 oz. remi is shorter by an inch, 18 inches.

not in too much pain, except when she nurses i have cramping like crazy. my back also hurts like nuts. but the actual nursing itself seems to be going so much more smoothly. i’m hoping not to hate it this time around.
