Borrowing A/C & Internet from Starbucks

Oh yeah.. We are moved.  It’s been a whirlwind.  We left on July 1st and hubby’s parents stayed at our old apartment to meet the movers.  We left home at 6 am and got here at 3 pm.  We went to the realtor to get the keys to the house.  Rushed to the City Hall to make sure the water was turned on – even though we’d made prior arrangements, it wasn’t on.  Got that taken care of.  Furniture arrived Friday and there were no surprises.  We left Monday afternoon to a town 140 miles from our new home for a week of New Employee Orientation.  We got back home Friday night and left again Sunday afternoon to a town 90 miles from home for a week of Training.  We got home Friday night (again) to find that the air conditioner wasn’t working – it was 104 at 10:30 pm.  The a/c repairman lives next door – but, he was out of town and said he’d fix it the next morning and we should go to a hotel.  We both thought it was no big deal and that we could handle the heat.  We settled in for the night with both fans blowing in our bedroom.  It was miserable.  I ended up running a cold bath and slept there for over an hour.  Finally, about 4 am, I woke hubby up and told him I had to get out of the house.  I was feeling nauseated and just couldn’t take any more of the heat – it was 100 degrees in the house.  Hubby drove and I slept.  We stopped two hours later for breakfast and headed back home.  The a/c was fixed after noon and broke again Sunday afternoon.  We were told that a part had to be ordered and would be here Tuesday at the earliest.  At 9:30 pm, I started packing to go to a motel.  Hubby started his new job Monday morning at the actual site and this was not a good night for either of us.  We checked out of the motel today (Wednesday) and the a/c repairman is supposed to be at the house now.  I’ve been at Starbucks using their a/c and internet since 12:30 pm.  I did buy a drink and a sandwich.

I have yet to unpack one box from the movers and we have "lived" in the house since July 1st.  I have unpacked essentials that were in the cars.  It’s been a learning experience and I’m thankful things haven’t gone worse than they have.

We do have internet, tv and phone ~ that was hooked up Monday.. :o)

RYN: Really? How do I go about blocking her that way then?

OMG that’s crazy!! Maybe it’s time to find a new a/c repairman, someone to have on backup? I hope things cool off and things stay working so you can unpack! 🙂

Wow, did you tip? Lol..amazing how fast you moved! When I went to England, they don’t have many houses with ac there. It was a heat wave when I arrived with all humidity. I remember the fan blowing hot air on me. Had it not been the 8 hour flight, I don’t think I would have slept.

Wow, I hope things get better for you soon. I am so sorry that you have had such bad experience after moving. I am certain things will settle down soon, but do update.
