Update

~ hubby is still unemployed.. 7 months and counting.. 126 jobs applied for in 29 different states.. 2 phone interviews.. 1 in-person interview.. ugh.. it’s not pretty

~ two weeks ago we drove 14 hours to Olympia, WA.. hubby had his first (and only) in-person interview with DLI.. he was 1 of 6 people interviewed.. he was told they would narrow narrow it down to 2 and conduct another interview.. he received a rejection letter Monday.  I’m not upset that he didn’t get the job.. I’m upset that they didn’t call and let him know.. give some kind of feedback.. c’mon it was 6 people.. just felt like they were being chicken-shit about it.. ugh

~ volunteer furlough starts Wednesday or Thursday at work.. they are keeping 200-300 people to finish up pending work.. my recall number is 330.. I may end up staying a few days (or weeks) longer depending on whether people with lower numbers than mine have chosen to furlough early

~ not sure what we’ll do about this unemployment situation.. the unknown is stressful.. do we move?.. do we stay put?.. at least our rent hasn’t gone up with the new lease.. we can make it financially with both of our unemployment checks.. I’ll be called back to work in October.. hubby is on his first extension.. we’ll definitely have to do something when that runs out

~ despite the stress.. we are blessed.. there are many people in much worse situations
