The day techology crapped itself.
So.
My laptop died a horrid, rotten, sudden death.
I’m still not convinced it wasn’t murdered by some filthy fisted 3 year old.
It sudden had internal errors and couldn’t boot up and try as I might with my "handy dandy" computer fingers (which is me banging on the keys and willing everything to magically operate), it’s just dead. My computer wiz neighbour (she used to do some computerish thing with the army) even said "heh, it’s crapped itself."
Nice.
So sometime in the near future I’ll take it down to the friendly compter fixer-jupper store and see if they can’t zap some life into it with the technological equivilent of a defibriltor.
1, 2, 3 "CLEAR!"
Hem. Yeah… I’m just jazzed at the idea of having the choice to spend $89 per hour to get it fixed or to spend another $1500 on on a newie. Regardless of choices, I need the harddrive backed up because all my pics and doc’s are on there. MY WEDDING DOC and sporeadsheet is on there! Bloody hell… as if I don’t live on that thing! It’s like budget central so not having it makes me feel somewhat raw.
When I went and did the flower consultation the other day I must admit I was lost without my bouquet suggestions and I couldn’t remember how much i’d allocated for the flower budget.
My florist rocks my socks.
I’d had a few horrendous quotes from exclusive designers and I eventually found her. Sooooo nice having someone reasonable! I thought i’d only be able to get the absolute minimum of flowers (bouquet, buttonholes etc) but she got my pick of flowers and I’m able to afford centrepieces! Totally giddy with excitement.
Including set-up and delivery costs, $500. I gave her $100 check to secure the date so that’s $400 left to pay.
My cake people made these yummy yummy cakes for me to taste. Gawd help me… I thought a cake "tasting" involved just a sliver of cake. Her she brings out a tray of these mammoth chunks of cake! I nearly died… but managed to work my way through the idea of stuffing myself sideways with the delicious combinations of goodies. Sacha didn’t hold back though… She downed it in about 5.5 seconds and declared she was ready for the next batch.
Anyway… the flavor we went with is Raspberry & Blood Orange Filling on white cake with a white chocolate buttercream icing. Divine!!!
Since it’s just a small wedding there was really no need for 5 different flavors or a 6 tier cake. It’s 2 tiers but will be yummy.
Mmmmmm Oh yeah. I dropped another 2 pounds but haven’t beeb able to update my ticker right now. Probably won’t be able to in this quick session but will when I get a moment. Down 2 wedding dress sizes too and my dress is all paid off! Accomplishment!!!
Now I must take my poor hound to the vet. She caught a bad bacterial infection but won’t take her med’s so we need to haul her off so the vet can do it!

I hate when technology craps the bed. That’s why no matter how advanced we get, I don’t ever 100% trust it (not that that has stopped me from living on my OWN computer and depending on it for just about everything!! haha) The cake sounds delicious! I can’t wait to try it!!

Ugh–I feel yer pain! Our Dlink just died, and I will need to summon a computer geek to get Michael’s computer up and running on the internet again. I am appalled at how much we depend on these wretched machines!

you kept within the budget for the flowers, have the cake sorted and the dress paid off…. you are a wonder! (BTW – got the invitation – trying to save madly right now)

My fav computer shop fixes laptops and pc’s for a whopping 80 bucks no matter what needs to be done with it. I can usually fix it myself, but there are those times when its just easier to spend the 80 bucks and save myself a headache.

good stuff and bad stuff. Let’s applaud the good stuff cause it’s really really good stuff and know the bad stuff will be ok soon. Seriously great work. Good to see you so organised. Can’t wait to taste that cake!!!
