Not often I am awake this time of night/morning! Will probably be able to go back to sleep now. But just thought I’d stop by…:)

Haven’t been sailing since! It took me a week before I could stand up out of a chair normally and without wincing… and I think I did something wrong with my left knee… that is still giving off twinges!

Have done HUGE amounts of research into ‘what to do when there is MINING going to be happening near or on your own land’

Went to a very interesting meeting (last) tonight on WATER resources and mining… was very privileged to be one of the first recipients of new research just completed into what our water resources ARE… still there is a lot they don’t know… they have just discovered what they think is a NEW source of water here too… that is very interesting…

I guess, living in the driest State of the driest continent in the world (well that is what I was taught at school… not sure if it is true), water holds so much interest for us…

Particularly here, where we live, as all our water for a vast area, is pumped out of artesian basins we know very little amount… well, we didn’t…. we now know and they can get emptied… and when they do the seawater will come in and fill them up and make them useless. That the water gets into them, only from rain happening to fall straight on them and going in the holes in the limestone surface…

And that when there is a 10 year drought (that finished two years ago) they get nearly emptied and we have to make severe restrictions on their use….

This means that MINING, a HUGE user of water, may not be able to find enough water to mine….

Gets all a bit political from there…..as our laws allow mining to happen, regardless… and apparently our economy is a bit dependant on surviving well on the proceeds of our mines, here in Australia…. so we are all doing LOTS of research on WATER….apparently…

Maybe I am just a nerd for being so interested…. but then again… my own (only) personal water supply on my own personal land is at risk (maybe) so, not so nerdy….

Decided that I can get my water from elsewhere if it gets contaminated, or I will get them who contaminates to clean it… can’t stop progress, no need to ‘fight against the wind’… it will all be fine….. but I’ll be keeping an eye on them thar pesky miners…. haha

I’m going back to bed now I’ve got that off my chest! I’ll have to let you know about everything else later… but all the same really…
