Well today was eventful.  I got up and had my coffee.  The my friend, Ginger (aka Jennifer), who lives down the block, contacted me and wanted me to come over and watch Twilight and all the other movies with her to catch up for the last and final movie in November.  I got ready and waited on her.  She was coming to pick me up and drive me down the block to her house.   I can’t use crutches and walk/hobble the whole way down there.  So it was about 11:15, she was supposed to pick me up at 11:00, and at 11:15 she calls and says she fell back asleep and that she was on her way.  She picked me up shortly thereafter.

We get to her house and she was telling me about her oven.  She spilled sour cream on the bottom of the oven and it had got caught on fire so she had her boyfriend, my friend, Michael, had to put it out and it smoked and set off the alarms and whatnot.  This was a few weeks ago.  So it’s been sitting in there for a few weeks, and when she showed me, it was all black and stuck to the bottom of the oven floor.  I saw she has a self-cleaning oven, so I get this bright idea in my head to let it self clean….at 475 degrees.  We set it up, and it begins to catch fire and smoke REALLY bad.  She was so calm about it all….I’m freaking out!!!!  I’m opening all the windows, I’m turning on fans, I’m opening doors.  She’s all calm as her oven is on fire and smoking.  Meanwhile I’m hobbling around and she finally says for me to sit down.  I told her to turn off the oven and she does.  We watch Twilight and then open the oven door…..it was still a glob on the bottom of the oven floor.  I was pissed.  I’m like it caught on fire, shouldn’t it be ash by now???  It was rough.  So I came home and asked Todd and my mother-in-law what to do.  Apparently we should have just left it go and smoked and caught fire.  The fire was self contained, that’s why the oven door locks.  So it’s all good now!!!
