Surgery, next Friday September 7

Ah!  The surgery is next Friday. 

I’ll be out of work for approximately 12 weeks.  And when I come back I will be wearing a big black walking boot.  So fun!  They have hired a replacement for me in the time being and I train her starting Tuesday, after Labor Day.  I only work until 12 Tuesday though, but will be at work a full day Wednesday.  So I will just let the new girl, whose name is Tia, in on what we do in the afternoon.  I’m going to type up what I do on a daily basis just so she knows. 

I’m really apprehensive about this surgery….not the surgery itself, but what I’m doing afterward.  I have to have my foot up for two weeks after the surgery, not bearing weight on it for two months and THEN and only then will I have the ability to stand on it for short amounts of time.  They are fusing two or three, I forget, bones together in my ankle, doing a nerve block and also lengthening my Archiles Tendon as well. 

I go in for Pre-Op work on Tuesday at 1:30.  So not looking forward to that.  Don’t know what it all is, but still nervous about it. 

Just nervous about the whole thing.  About being laid up and about making sure my work is okay with everything.  Just nervous.
