chocolate pudding!!!

this weekend was mazeppa daze. yes daze, not days… that just shows how many drunk people we can cram into a town.

friday was the parade and small street dance. mostly the older folk and young kids hang around. nobody dances. we baracade a city street and everyone meanders everywhere.

i talked to a girl i went to high school with. one of the "popular" girls that was always nice to me. but really, she’s nice to everyone. i don’t know why, but we always have talked. we used to be in band together, from 5th grade on, and we were always a little pack (the flutes) but only during band. besides me and laura (and then sam) none of us really hung out that much.

anyways, she came up to us, and i could tell immediatley she was pregnant. she said she is 4 months along, and due december 31st. i said "i’m four months too" and she looked like she wanted to cry, she was so happy. it made me feel good.

our kids are due 2 days from each other, which means they will go to school together, and maybe they will be better friends than abbey and i.

*kind of going off in the wrong direction for this entry, but it’s on my mind. why do we meet the people we do? is there really a purpose for everyone in your life? did abbey and i talk so later in life our children will be best friends? or get married? or what not?… why can a person make friends with the most random person, and have it work out? destiny? fate?*

onto the rest of the evening.

we stayed for the street dance, watched amy and jenny get thoroughly wasted, and were in bed by 10:30pm. how fucking old am i?

saturday i got up to finish cooking the food for the BBQ and amy woke up. she told me she had made out with some guy (that used to be her neighbor when she was little) for a while in the school park. (amy has a boyfriend. has had one for 7 months?… but she did meet him while she was dating a different guy… kind of revolving door?)

jenny picked us up and drove us 3 blocks to go to breakfast at the american legion. woohoo small town pancake feeds.

this is the first year i have ever been to it. usually i’m so hungover that i sleep till noon, so i can start over saturday afternoon.

we started the BBQ at 4pm, of course people didnt really show up till 6pm, like they always do.

played some volleyball (not me, cuz i was too busy getting everything ready and cooking. even though i wanted to play volleyball more than anything)

the boys played mini golf.

we sat and gabbed. i ran around. trying to make sure everyone was relaxed. (right state of mind, yes?)

after food, we started the pudding wrestling.  fucking hilarious. best idea i have ever had. even though nobody really wrestled. they kind of sat in the pool and touched each other with pudding. i figured it would be more hard core, but it was so tame that i decided i could get in. (i didn’t want to fall in the slippery pudding and hurt my knee)

once i got in, the pudding started to fly. then we all jumped out and started running at the people watching us (about 20 people)… they all ran, and one girl even dropped her beer and booked it down the block! fucking hilarious!!!!

the only thing we didnt really think through was how we were gonna get the pudding off? laura, nikki, amy, and i all walked through the house leaving pudding tracks, jake stayed outside and hosed himself off. the four of us took turns in the shower, leaving our dirty suits in the shower.

i’m pretty sure i still have pudding in my hair as i type. didn’t really have time to wash properly, since we had to get ready to go to the fireworks.

everyone got showered, and me and laura opened our birthday presents (me-14th, laura-16th) and had the cake that lea made for us.

by then everyone was ready for the fireworks and we walked down to the ball field to find a spot on the hill.lexa had been saving us a spot apparently, but she was with lindsey and carolyn, and some other people that we really didn’t know, so we just sat in our usuall spot with laura’s family. afterwards we stayed for the dance, and joe tried to find people he knew. we took a bunch of pictures with amy, and around 11 we decided to go home (more like the baby decided to go home… cuz my back and feet hurt so bad i was done with it all)

definitley not the mazeppa daze i had planned, but better than expected, seeing as i couldnt partake in the festivities.

sunday was supposed to be tubing day (jenny, amy, haugen, nikki, jon, and lexa went…. but i don’t get on the river unless i’m drinking)

oh well. i like the day of nothing (besides having to clean out the pudding pool.
