A Lovely Green House
Lots of mini adventures.
House hunting may have finally paid off. I found this lovely Victorian style house right near where we’d like to live. It’s within walking distance of the U (about a mile) and even closer to TRAX and the grocery store (about a half mile). Also, it’s quite close to Sarah, maybe three blocks. It’s just the cutest house ever and was just recently remodeled. It’s lovely. I really hope we get it.
We’re meeting with the Realtor tomorrow to get a tour of the house (and not just photos of the inside), but I’m sure we’ll want it. It’s perfect. I hesitate to put up pictures, just in case it doesn’t work (I don’t want to get more attached than I already am), but if we get it, I will post photos of our new green house. (That’s right– it’s green! A very pleasant shade of green; nothing ugly, I promise.)
The other day, Bryan, Bobby, John, and I all went driving around the valley house hunting together. We didn’t find anything that fit our needs, but we did poke around the Victorian a bit. We peered in the windows and looked at the backyard. Nothing scandalous, I promise. 😉 Anyway, I hope we get the house. I’m really really excited.
I went to a Saint Patrick’s Day party on Saturday, but wound up leaving pretty early. It was one of those "party for the sake of drinking" parties, and I just couldn’t get into it. It’s hard when you don’t drink. And it was really really crowded and hot and smelled bad. I wasn’t doing so well emotionally, and then my stomach decided that it didn’t like what I’d had for dinner. So leaving was good. Too bad I didn’t get to hang out with Chase and Alex very much, though. I haven’t seen those guys in forever.
Note: The following information has girl-details that some people may prefer to skip.
I went and got a new birth control prescription today. (Has it really been a year? Wow.) They gave me a different prescription than the last time, because I told them that I tend to get horrendous mood swings on my off-week. I told them that I hadn’t had that particular symptom when not on birth control. So we’ll see if this makes a difference. Hopefully so.
Also, can I just say that I love Planned Parenthood? I just like the way I feel that I can trust the information that I’m given there. I was a bit stressed that I would go in, and they would give me disapproving glances for not having had a PAP ever. But, unlike most places, they say that you need one by the time you’re 21 or have been sexually active for three years. Neither qualifies yet. So that’s good.
I’m terrified of PAPs. Terrified. And don’t give me any of that "Oh, you just have to get over it and go do it" crap. I’ve heard it. Mostly I’m just glad that I have another year to work through my issues regarding this. (Wow, I’m almost 20, guys!) I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t have panic attacks when being intimate with Bryan. I think, given another year, I could manage some stranger (doctor) pokin’ around down there. Without much of a panic attack. Hopefully.
End girl stuff.
I’m excited to go camping with Bryan and Mark. We’re going to go shopping tomorrow (after visiting the house!) and get everything that we need. I’m really excited. Actually, I’m really excited to get Zatarain’s dirty rice jambalaya mix. It’s pretty good food in normal circumstances, but camping it is just GODLY. It’s some tasty shit. And so easy. And so camping-portable! It’s definitely my favorite camping food. Camping is not the same without it. (And, actually, the dirty rice isn’t the same without camping; it doesn’t taste nearly as good.)
So, let’s see. What other adventures have I gone on recently? I did take my camera with me on my outing today, and took a bunch of pictures from the Millennium Bridge, which is near where I live. Not the dorms complex, but probably better identified as "upper campus". I left my camera in Bryan’s room, so I can’t upload them yet, but hopefully I will before I leave for camping. Some day, my friends, I will get actual shots of lower campus and Salt Lake Proper on my phone. As well as some puppies. Because puppies are awesome.
I went to the Guide Dog’s meeting tonight. It was pretty fun. This marks my fourth meeting that I’ve attended, which is half the minimum requirement for getting a puppy. So, if I don’t miss any meetings and my luck works out just right, I should be getting the puppy by the end of May (right around my birthday!). I am sososo excited for this dog, guys. So excited!
Also, I’m so excited to move in with Bryan. It kind of hit me the other day. I will be living with Bryan. There will be no ten minute walk in the freezing cold to visit one another. Sleepovers will be easy and the bed will be big enough for two people. We will cook one another’s food. Cuddles will be plentiful. This is so exciting!
And hopefully it will all be in a lovely green house near TRAX.
I await pictures of lovely green house. Yay!

Sounds like a nice house! And, guide dogs! That’s awesome. I want to train guide puppies in a few years when I’m all growed up.

I know how you felt on that party, I’m a nondrinker too and many people laugh at me because I’m the only one sober on the most of the parties I get invited to. I’d love to see that green house, I like everything that’s Victorian.
