LaLaLa

I’ve been in such a good mood since moving home (yes, Mom– Home=dorms).  I love it here.  I have a wonderful view outside of my window, it’s quiet (strange for dorms, but you can’t get much louder than my house, seriously).  I’m so close to Bryan, I love Katrina (my roommate), I love being so close to so many friends.  I love my own space, I love not performing computer surgery at my mother’s whims.  I love being able to play my music however fucking loud I want whenever the fuck I want.

In short:  it’s fantastic.

I accidentally left my shoulder bag in the dining center last night.  This morning I went to go get it back (Thank goodness Katrina was in the room, I like being able to sleep in my bed!) and Miguel, the guy at the payment station (who is this terribly cute old man with this darling Mexican accent; he always recognizes me and says hello and asks how I’m doing and all sorts of fun stuff like that), well, he had recognized my bag and gave it back to me!  Someone other than he had found it, so he recommended that I check that everything was still there.

Everything was still there!  It makes me really happy when there are obvious signs of goodness in the world.  Here I have this bag full of personal items, a credit card (for emergencies linked to my parents’ account, so it could do a lot of damage), a debit card (linked to my account), and bunches of money: not to mention some medications and other such things, and they left it all there.  Yay!  There are good people in the world!

Also at the store yesterday, there was this woman in a wheelchair that was trying to get something that had fallen near her feet:  I asked if she needed help, and she said yes, so I retrieved her cookie!  I have always been nervous about approaching people and asking if they need help.  This is the first time I’ve successfully done it!  Hooray!  I’m a good person, too!

Cold weather + bronchitis = need for scarf.  The only scarf I can use is Bryan’s and while very warm, it is also quite itchy.  I have some very very warm and soft yarn, so I’m currently making my own scarf.  It’s turning out very pretty.  I’m alternating between moss stitch (or double moss if you’re British) and garter stitch stripes.  It’s quite exciting.  And I get to listen to music all day.

I also finally thought of a name for my diary!  One day I was riding home from high school in Stephen’s car, and we got stopped at this light for a crosswalk.  Except that there were no pedestrians.  None.  So Stephen exclaimed, "There are ghosts in the crosswalk!"  I thought that this would make an exceptional band name, and planned it all out.  Our first band album would also be called "Ghosts in the Crosswalk" and it would feature an Abbey Road-like pose, but instead of The Beatles, it would be the Pacman ghosts!!!!!  Brilliant.

Because my odds of winding up in a band (as well as being given entire creative liscence over the band name as well as first album name and cover art) are quite minimal, I was glad I thought of using the name here.  Hooray for using good band names for something!

Aaaaaaaaaaaand you should all be happy that I’m in the dorms again.  I sure am.  Tootles!

(Home = dorms) = WIN. That name is also a really good idea. I’ll try not to steal it. ^_^

So when you say home is the dorms, is that Salt Lake? I used to live there, briefly, a number of years ago! RYN: Amen to snowboarding! I never snowboarded in the Rockies, but definitely want to some day! 🙂
