9/11/01

Posted last year:

I find it so hard to believe that "9/11" ever happened.

I STILL cry a little too often for the people lost and the people who lost loved ones.

Not a week goes by that it doesn’t cross my mind.

Now mind you, I did not know a single soul lost that day. I don’t know anyone lost

in the "war" since then.

But still, I cry.

For the mothers and fathers and sisters and brothers and aunts and uncles and cousins and friends lost.

And the mothers and fathers and sisters and brothers and aunts and uncles and cousins and friends who

have to live without them.

Until my last breath, I will never forget.

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day?

Today:

Here we are on the 10th anniversary and I still cry just as much as I did ten years ago.

Life has changed so much. But still we remember.

Next year I will have my first grandchild.

My sweet "little" boy graduated with his first (associates) degree, moved into his own

place and is now going to become a father. He got a fantastic job with great benefits and

is working on a double BA program. And he is going to become a father.

A father………………………

We will make sure this new life will never forget either.

We will make sure this new life knows of the sacrifices made since that day.

We will make sure this new life knows of the heroes that allow us to walk our streets safely today.

Where were you when the world stopped turning on that September day?

Home in Portland with my visiting friend/ex-wife from Japan. Incredible days. Watch a documentary last night about the firemen, the first responders. An awfully quiet week after that. Waiting for the next thing to happen.
