An Odd Event

Friday was uneventful. I went to sleep early so I could get up early Saturday and go to work. I worked for 5 hours, went to the gym, and then went tanning. Later that evening I had my first Meetup event.

It was different, to say the least. Apparently, they invited a lot of different groups to this one specific event, which I don’t mind, but the majority were from the gay and lesbian groups. I have nothing against the gay and lesbian community, but when you’re a single, straight-woman, you don’t wanna have to figure out if that cute guy by the bar is checking you out, or if he just wants to know where you bought your dress. You know what I mean? I was also annoyed when two women (who looked like they were my mom’s age) asked me to dance. I left once I saw a 6’4”, 250lb man, walk in wearing a dog collar, black patent-leather shorts, and black stiletto heels. -___-

I ended up going to a bar close to home. It was mostly for an older crowd, but I enjoyed the music. They played old R&B, some hip hop, and even some old Mexican cumbias. I danced with a bunch of random guys, different ages, and races. One guy was really sweet. He was 39 years old, tall, half white and Mexican. But he was too soft. He asked me for my number and right when I was about to give it to him, he tells me he’s afraid of me and walks away. WTF? He comes back and has these puppy dog eyes and just looks at me like, "Please don’t break my heart." It was a little too much for me. I like sensitivity in a man, but this was ridiculous. He looked like he wanted to cry almost. Anyway, I took his number instead and told him I’d call, but I’m not going to call.

Sunday I had a massive hangover. I didn’t think I drank that much. =/

Sigh. Weird weekend. I guess it still beats sitting at home drinking by myself. lol

On a completely different subject… Can I just say… the guy they picked to be the new Bachelor is freakin hot!!!! I wish there were men that hot around here. =P
